I AM in uni now. Being a research student (aka. professional student/uni bum), I don't have any "semester" routine. Just get to take 4 weeks off a year.

I hated uni so much, I got my degree - not that I know what it was, and was so glad to see the back of it. I hated studying, it didnt benefit me!

I'm in uni again on the 26th I think? But I'm in uni currently too. Infact I think I have basically no breaks because I'm doing 4 semesters each year through Open Uni.

y did u study lol?
Sure studing isnt a walk in the park.. it can be very draining at times.. but i i think it can also be quite fulfilling.. That's if u have a goal at the end other than just graduating
I dont know why to be honest, I went to uni in 1997, and back then it felt like the right thing to do, I did it without knowing, and I was never career minded in anyway so I didn't know what I wanted to do, I never had any real interests to be honest. It was my second preference that I got on first round so I just took it. I stayed in the course cause later on I could change streams and it seemed like it would take me somewhere, but then I started working part time and wasn't focused, I finished it for the sake of finishing. You have a goal meme which is great, you know what your working toward, i never had anything! And my degree looked great in my resume, but in the end thats all it was, it might of helped me get some jobs, dont know, but never really used it in the jobs I had. Kheir, I will just stick to my arabic studies InshaAllah and being a housewife - I'm better at that anyways

Lena if you have a career in mind, or a goal say to do something like social work etc, then its useful, but if you dont have a career in mind then its a waste of time and money. You really need to know what direction you want to head, not just go to uni and think things will sort themselves out once your in.

Yeah, I never really knew what I wanted to do and didn't have anything specific in my mind. So I thought it was best I didn't go and waste my time in doing something that was going to be useless to me later..

I started TAFE having no idea what I wanted from life, it was at TAFE that I got an idea of what I wanted and then after TAFE where I decided what I want.
Not everyone goes into further education knowing what they want, you get some people that finish their degrees and go on to do something different all together.
