What's this about a Sisters' group?

There is a group that exists exclusively for sisters. It is hidden from those who are not group members. If you are a sister, PM aussiemu to obtain access.

Why has my thread or post been deleted?

First of all, many threads are posted to the wrong section and are subsequently moved by a moderator to a more appropriate forum. Check that your thread is not one of them. If it has been deleted, however, please note that moderators reserve the right to delete any thread or post at their discretion, and are not obliged to provide any explanation for doing so. Nevertheless, they are usually glad to justify their decisions, provided they are not asked rudely. If your thread or post has been deleted, please refrain from starting a new thread solely to moan your ill fortune and criticise the moderators. Rather, send a PM to a moderator and request an explanation personally, or post a thread in the Feedback section to maturely discuss whether or not a certain topic or viewpoint is acceptable to put forward. This is a far more productive approach that will insha'Allah lead to healthier, more robust discussion, and maybe even peace in the Middle East.

Hey, what happened to such and such (benign) thread?

Some threads have been known to mysteriously disappear from the forums. The exact reasons behind this are uncertain, but we suspect it has to do with those pesky aliens who are no longer satisfied with abducting only humans. Another theory is that the threads become tainted by too many inappropriate comments, such that deletion makes more sense than moderation and/or locking. Also, sometimes the threads are temporarily quarantined in the moderaters' section until any offending comments can be removed, in which case just be patient and the thread will return, all new-and-improved-like.

What is the ruling on such and such an issue in Islam?

AussieMuslims does not necessarily endorse any fatwas or answers given in response to questions of such nature. The ideal way for a questioner to have their fiqh or aqidah enquiries addressed is to ask a qualified, trustworthy scholar In Real Life. This approach enables the scholar to give the most appropriate answer based on the full background to the question as well as the questioner's particular circumstances.
