" Lo! men who surrender unto Allah, and women who surrender,
and men who believe and women who believe,
and men who obey and women who obey,
and men who speak the truth and women who speak the truth,
and men who persevere (in righteousness) and women who persevere,
and men who are humble and women who are humble,
and men who give alms and women who give alms,
and men who fast and women who fast,
and men who guard their modesty and women who guard (their modesty),
and men who remember Allah much and women who remember -
Allah hath prepared for them forgiveness and a vast reward. "
(Al-Ahzab: 35)
Listen to it here.
Who said women are not equal to men in the sight of Allah (swt)?

O you who believe! Stand out firmly for Allâh as just witnesses and let not the enmity and hatred of others make you avoid justice. Be just: that is nearer to piety, and fear Allâh. Verily, Allâh is Well-Acquainted with what you do. (Al-Mā'idah: 8)

What does it mean? : "the leaves of which do not fall and is like a Muslim."

In a recent course with Sheikh Ibrahim Dremali, where he taught ’The Fiqh of Hadith’, he discussed various points relating to this beautiful hadith that I want to share:
1. The leaves of the date-palm tree which do not fall all year round, were compared to the Muslim by the Prophet (sallAllahu alayhi wasallam). This means that the Muslim will bring benefit at all times, whereever they are and at any given time.
2. The Sheikh brought up the benefits of the date-palm tree itself, and how every single part of the tree has benefit, from the roots to the leaves to the dates. Subhan’Allah. By using the Prophet’s comparison of a Muslim to this tree, the Sheikh reminds us of all the potential benefits of a Muslim, and how we should never give up in any matter. Whether it is in making dawah, facing hardship, dealing with family, fellow Muslims, problems in the Masjid, or any other matter – DONT EVER GIVE UP.
This was an excellent reminder extracted from the beautiful words and comparison by our Prophet (sallAllahu alayhi wasallam). May Allah SWT preserve the Sheikh and help us all to spread the benefit of Islam; Ameen.

I mistakenly thought the simile was between the leaves and a Muslim, when in fact, it was between the date tree and the Muslim.

...In another Hadith recorded by Tabrani (RA), narrated by Hadhrat Jabir (Radhiallaahu Anhu) who reports of Nabi (Sallallaahu Alayhi Wasallam) to have said:
'Everything devoid of the remembrance of Allah Ta'ala is Lahw save four actions;
a) Walking between 2 targets (while practicing archery);
b) Training or disciplining of one's horse;
c) Amusing oneself with the company of one's wife;
d) Learning of the art of swimming.

Narrated by Uqbah Ibn Amir:
I heard the Apostle of Allah (saw) say: "Allah, Most High, will cause three persons to enter Paradise for one arrow: the maker when he has a good motive in making it, the one who shoots it, and the one who hands it; so shoot and ride, but your shooting is dearer to me than your riding.
Everything with which a man amuses himself is vain except three (things): a man's training of his horse, his playing with his wife, and his shooting with his bow and arrow. If anyone abandons archery after becoming an adept through distaste for it, it is a blessing he has abandoned; or he said: for which he has been ungrateful."
(Sunan Abu-Dawud, 2507)

Heard an excellent hadith today:

Sahih Muslim Book 37. Repentance And Exhortation Of Repentance
Chapter : Throwing of non-believers in hell-fire for believers as Divine Grace and Mercy.
Abu Musa' reported that Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) said: When it will be the Day of Resurrection Allah would deliver to every Muslim a Jew or a Christian and say: That is your rescue from Hell-Fire.
The explanation the sheikh I was listening to gave was that some Muslims will not be able to be rescued from hellfire with their deeds alone, so one of these ahlul kitaab will come as a replacement.

What do you mean as a replacement?

Not sure, actually the sheikh used the word "fidaa'", and that Allah will give the Muslim the Jew or Christian to use as ransom to be free, if we're going by what "fidaa'" translates to in English.

8. And of mankind, there are some who say: “We believe in Allah and the Last Day” while in fact they believe not.
9. They try to deceive Allah and those who believe, while they only deceive themselves, and perceive not!
10. In their hearts is a disease and Allah has increased their disease. A painful torment is theirs because they used to tell lies.

Narrated Abu Huraira (Radhiallaho anha): The Prophet (Salallahu alayhi wasalam) said,
"Angels keep on descending from and ascending to the Heaven in turn, some at night and some by daytime, and all of them assemble together at the time of the Fajr and 'Asr prayers. Then those who have stayed with you over-night, ascent unto Allah Who asks them, and He knows the answer better than they, "How have you left My slaves?" They reply, "We have left them praying as we found them praying."
If anyone of you says "Amin" (during the Prayer at the end of the recitation of Surat-al-Faitiha), and the angels in Heaven say the same, and the two sayings coincide, all his past sins will be forgiven."
[ Sahih Bukhari]How canst thou say to thy brother,Brother,let me pull out the mote that is in thine eye, when thou thyself beholdest not the beam that is in thine own eye? Thou hypocrite, cast out first the beam out of thine own eye, and then shalt thou see clearly to pull out the mote that is in thy brother's eye.

The Prophet
said:
Do not speak much without remembering Allah, for talking much without remembering Allah is (a cause for) the hardening of the heart. And indeed, the person most distant from Allah is one with a hardened heart.

On the authority of Thawbaan , the Prophet (pbuh) said:
"The People will soon summon one another to attack you as people when eating invite others to share their food."
Someone asked, "Will that be because of our small numbers at that time?"
He replied, "No, you will be numerous at that time: but you will be froth and scum like that carried down by a torrent (of water), and Allah will take the fear of you from the breasts (hearts) of your enemy and cast al-wahn into your hearts."
Someone asked, "O Messenger of Allah, what is al-wahn?"
He replied, "Love of the world and dislike of death."
Recorded by Abu Dawud and AhmadO you who believe! Stand out firmly for Allâh as just witnesses and let not the enmity and hatred of others make you avoid justice. Be just: that is nearer to piety, and fear Allâh. Verily, Allâh is Well-Acquainted with what you do. (Al-Mā'idah: 8)

And Satan will say when the matter has been concluded, "Indeed, Allah
had promised you the promise of truth. And I promised you, but I
betrayed you. But I had no authority over you except that I invited you,
and you responded to me. So do not blame me; but blame yourselves. I
cannot be called to your aid, nor can you be called to my aid. Indeed, I
deny your association of me [with Allah] before. Indeed, for the
wrongdoers is a painful punishment." [14:22]Whoever remembers death often will find a small amount (of worldly things) sufficient for him; and whoever includes his speech in his deeds will speak little.
Indeed, the wasteful are brothers of the devils, and ever has Satan been to his Lord ungrateful. (Surat al Isra': 27)

I was watching some good material today, and I came across this verse.
Say, "Do you await for us except one of the two best things while we await for you that Allah will afflict you with punishment from Himself or at our hands? So wait; indeed we, along with you, are waiting." [At-Tawbah: 52]
