salams,
How do we know if it's Davis gelatine? Where on the product should the label be? ingredients bit where it says gelatine or where?

The gelatine being referred to here is the one you buy in packets to use when you make your own cheesecakes etc. The brand is "Davis". You find gelatine in the baking section of the supermarket usually.
If you mean lollies etc where gelatine is listed as an ingredient, there is no such thing as it saying it is Davis brand or what not. If that is what you mean?

A sister posted it on another forum a while ago so I hope the times are still relevant:
Betta Factory 25 King William St, Broadmeadows, open Wednesday to Friday 10.00 am - 4.00 pm
Also if I remember correctly I read somewhere that the Natural Confectionery Company (I think that's the name) used halal beef gelatine as their gelatine. You could contact them to ask them to confirm though.

Assalamu alaikum,
With regards to the Natural Confectionary Company i emailed them and they rang me back confirming that all their products contain halal gelatine but they havent gone ahead with halal certification due to costs involved.

Companies have to pay to get halal-certified to put the 'halal' label on the actual packet. I don't know how much it costs though.
You can ask for a copy of their halal gelatine supply info or certificate.

Assalamu alaykum
If anyone is interested I supply halal gelatine. The gelatine is from Pakistan and is 100% halal. I haven't got halal certification locally yet because I'm still in two minds about it. Do I really need certification or is the product being from Pakistan good enough?(Halal certificate provided from Pakistan). I would really appreciate any feedback on this.
JazakAllah kheir
