    Assalamu alaikum,

Well i thought i may as well post my intro. I am also one of the old 'crew' from melbmuslims so i've been hovering around for a while. I'm currently a SAHM to 2 gorgeous kids, my oldest is (yep you guessed it) Rashid, he's almost 4, and my little girl Karima is 17 months.

I used to work full time, then part time when i had my Rashid, then gave it all up when i had Karima. I was an employment consultant. Like Umm-mohammed i am really enjoying staying home with my kids. I love being there for them, teaching them things, and recently with my son seeing his awareness of Allah develop. Its such a beautiful thing. I take my role as a mother very seriously, some think too seriously, i just think these early years are so important, and we should do what we nurture them in a way which will result in the type of generation of muslims that we need to get the ummah out of the embarassing state we're in. One of the things i want most from this dunya is for my children to grow to become constructive members of our ummah, and if you're feeling particularly nice please feel free to make dua that my dream becomes a reality hehe

My passion about raising little muslims led to my forum www.islamicparenting.org/forum Its a lovely forum where sisters share tips and support one another on the very difficult and stressful role of raising our children as muslims. The sisters there are so lovely masha'allah, so if you are a mother, or know any mothers out there who you think may benefit please feel free to pass the info on. And of course you dont have to have kids to be a member there, married sisters without kids, or even single sisters who want to be really prepared are more than welcome!

Thats about it from me, i havent had much time to post lately, but maybe one day i'll find time again.

    assalamu alaikum,

UmmRashid you have beautiful children masha'Allah. May Allah protect them and help you to raise them as pious Muslims. I don't think you can be too careful with how you raise your children.

Your forum is great masha'Allah. I've learnt alot on there If you have kids or are considering having kids, it's a great site to interact with other mothers/mothers to be.

    wassalamu alaikum

lol yes karima is cheeky!! You'd be surprised, she acts all innocent infront of people, but at home its a different story!!! She was standing on furniture before she was able to walk, and now she spends half her time on the arm of the couch switching the lights on and off The other day she fell off and hit her head pretty badly, she was crying so much poor thing, and has a huge bruise on her head. And then guess what she was doing about 5 mins later? Her latest past time is riding her stride2ride, but she has to ride it karima style, she stands on the seat and rocks it she also stands on her toddler seat and rocks it forward, i dont know where she gets it from!

But yes you are right, alhumdulilah i have been blessed!
