...in the whole wide world. (Sorry, I just miss my nephew and niece heh).

Anyways, this one is one of my favourite quotes, and is relevant to the whole message board experience:

"He who fights with monsters might take care lest he thereby become a monster. And if you gaze for long into an abyss, the abyss gazes also into you." - Friedrich Nietzsche

"Today, I shall meet people who speak much, who are selfish, loathsome, and who love only themselves. Yet I will not be annoyed or bewildered by them, because I don’t imagine the rest of the world to be any different." ~ The Roman Emperor Marcus Aurelius

my favourite Quote is my signature
Think not of those who were slain in the path of Allah as dead, Nay, they live finding their sustenance in the the presence of their Lord, they rejoice in the bounty provided by Allah; and regard to those left behind, who have not yet joined them (in their bliss), they rejoice

    Assalamu 3alaykum

My favourite quote is my signature.. I believe there's a hadith of the Prophet salallahu 3alayhi wa sallam which states something very similar, although I can't remember the exact wording..

I've got a few others..Whenever I come across a really nice quote that I like I take a note of it. So be expecting to hear a few more from me insha'Allah

    Assalamualaikum

Abu Darda ra was in al-quds and he wrote to his close friend Salman al-Farsi ra asking him to come to the 'Holy Land' (Salman was in persia waging jihad fee sabeelililaah) to which Salman ra replied..

'It is not the land which makes one holy, but his actions'

this is one of the many reasons for my signature (eng one)...

As long as we're on the topic of arabic quotes...

لا تستوحشوا طريق الحق لقلة سالكيه

Fear not the path of truth for the lack of people walking on it.

Salman Al- farisi was on his deathbed, salman was seen weeping.when one of his conpanions asked him about the cause of his sorrow, he said: "Allah i am not weeping for fear of death, nor of sorrow of this world, but because the prophet told us to live in this world as (light) travellers ,and here i am with so many pieces of property." sa'd, his friend looked around to see what salman was referring to. and to his surprise, he found only one eating bowl and another one used for drinking and washing, for which salman considered himself leading a life of luxury.

When the tyrant has disposed of foreign enemies by conquest or treaty, and there is nothing to fear from them, then he is always stirring up some war or other, in order that the people may require a leader.
