    Why cry at the stories of those who won the pleasure of Allaah? why cry at the likes of Musa'b ibn Umair, Jafar ibn abi Talib radiAllaahuanhuma, or Sheikh Khalid Yasin rahimaAllaahu. Save your tears for yourself.

    Cry at what we have achieved in comparison to what they have done. SubhanAllaah, this quote from Shk Abdullaah Azzam, may Allaah be pleased with him, inspires those who wish to be inspired...

    “The life of the Ummah is connected to the ink of the scholars and the blood of the martyrs. What is more beautiful than to write the history of the Ummah with both the ink of the scholar and his blood, such that the map of Islamic history becomes coloured with two lines: one of them black, and that is what the scholar writes with the ink of his pen; and the second red, and that is what the martyr writes with his blood. And more beautiful than this is when the blood is one and the pen is one, so that the hand of the scholar, which expends the ink and moves the pen, is the same hand that expends his blood and moves the nations. The extent to which the number of martyred scholars increases, is the extent to which nations are delivered from their slumber, rescued from their decline and awoken from their sleep.

    So history does not write its lines except with blood. Glory does not build its lofty edifice except with skulls. Honour and respect cannot be established except on a foundation of cripples and corpses. Empires, noble persons, states and societies, cannot be established except with examples"

    My first post here so selamz to all.

    I must say that my favourite quote is "Silence is wisdom, yet few practice it" I am not sure who said this but i do remember that i had heard it from a lecture. Subhannallah i think it is so true what the quote is saying..
    I dont suffer from insanity, I enjoy every minute of it.

    I think theres a saying "Silence is Golden". When you think of the amount of trouble people are going to be in for their tongue, you can see why those quotes stand true.

    I was thinking of this today...the Salaf used to say:

    "The one who is more daring in giving fatwas is more deserving of Hell."
    "He who himself is void of beauty, sees nothing beautiful in nature."

    Sufyaan Ibn ’Uyaynah (d.198H) – rahimahullaah – said: “He whose sin is due to desire, then have hope for him; and he whose sin is due to pride, then fear for him. Because Aadam (’alayhis-salaam) sinned due to desire, and he was forgiven; and Iblees sinned due to pride, and he was cursed.”

    Related by Imaam adh-Dhahabee in Siyar A’laamun-Nubalaa (8/471).

    Imaam al-Hasan al-Basree (d.110H) – rahimahullaah – said, when he came across a group of people disputing: “These ones have become tired of worship, speaking has become easy for them, and their piety has diminished, and that is why they talk.”

    Ibn Mas’ood (radiyallaahu ’anhu) said: “You are in a time whose scholars are many, and its speakers are few. After you will come a time whose scholars are few, and whose speakers are many,"


    Related by at-Tabaraanee in al-Kabeer (no. 8066), and by al-Bukhaaree in al-Adabul-Mufrad (no. 789), and by al-Haafidh Ibn Hajar in Fathul-Baaree (10/1510) who declared it authentic.

    on the above point of culture... someone said...

    We see that happening today all over the world amongst Muslim youth and Musim society in general. The Muslim identity is a target no doubt.
