"Islam has a tradition of conservation; it is a way of living to be implemented in our day to day lives, not only when it is trendy to do so, or as ad hoc solutions when shortages encroach upon us. To emphasize this, the Prophet Muhammed, peace and blessings of God be upon him, advised that water be conserved even when one is washing at the banks of a rapidly flowing river and relayed: “The servants of the All-Merciful are those who tread lightly on the earth.” (Bayhaqi, al-Zuhd al-Kabir, 2.264)" - Imam Zaid Shakir (may Allah swt preserve him)
Ibn Taymiyya (r) said: The Way of those Shuyukh of Tasawwuff is to call people to Allah's Divine Presence and obedience to the Prophet (Majma'a Fatawa Ibn Taymiyya, Dar ar-Rahmat, Cairo. Vol 11. Pg 497)

“People are elevated with Allah in different ways. For example, some are elevated through their intensity of worship, some are elevated through patiently undergoing hardships, some are elevated through their gratitude, and some are elevated through their service of others. Allah is so kind. He gives each a way according to their nature, subhanAllah.” - Yasmin Mogahed

It is narrated that ‘Uthmân b. Áffân – Allâh be pleased with him – said in a sermon:

Son of Adam! Know that the angel of death who has been assigned to you has not ceased to pass you and move on to others, ever since you have been in this world. But it is as if he is about to pass someone else and move on to target you, so be careful and prepare for him (by correcting your deeds). And do not forget him, for he does not forget you. And know o son of Adam, if you are heedless about yourself and do not prepare, no one else will prepare for you. You must meet Allah the Mighty and Majestic, so take for yourself and do not leave it to someone else. Peace be on you.

    Abû Bakr Al-Daynûrî, Al-Mujâlasah wa Jawâhir Al-Ílm 2: 73, 74.

Do not leave the remembrance because of your lack of presence of heart with Allah therein, because your heedlessness of the remembrance of Allah is more harmful than your heedlessness during the remembrance of Allah. It may well be that He take you from remembrance in which there is heedlessness (ghaflah) to remembrance in which there is consciousness (yaqadhah); and from remembrance in which there is consciousness to remembrance in which there is presence of heart (hudoor); and from remembrance in which there is presence of heart to remembrance in which there is obliviousness to all but the One Remembered, “And that is not difficult for Allah.” Ibn ‘Ata’ Illaah (r) in the Hikam

When we are born, the Adhan is called but there is no Salah. When we die, Salah is prayed but
there is no Adhan. The Adhan called at the time of our birth is the Adhan for the Salah prayed
at the time of our death.

That is how short life is - the time between Adhan and Salah.

I think it might be a quote from Shaykh Hussain Abdul Sattar's talks.

Searching the world for what can never be found... the fragrance of paradise.
O you who believe! Stand out firmly for Allâh as just witnesses and let not the enmity and hatred of others make you avoid justice. Be just: that is nearer to piety, and fear Allâh. Verily, Allâh is Well-Acquainted with what you do. (Al-Mā'idah: 8)

It is reported that ‘Amr b. Maymûn said:

The Companions of Allâh’s Messenger – Allâh’s peace and blessings be upon him – used to say, “The mosques are the houses of Allâh on Earth, and it is a right from Allâh that He will honor those who visit Him in [His houses].”

    Ibn Al-Mubârak, Al-Zuhd wa Al-Raqâ`iq 4:159.
