It is reported that Abū ‘Ubaydah b. Al-Jarrāh – Allāh be pleased with him – said:
O people! Yes, I am a man from Quraysh, but there is not a white man (literally: red), nor a black man amongst you who exceeds me in righteousness (taqwā) except that I wish I was in his skin.
Al-Dhahabī, Siyar A’lām Al-Nubalā` 1:18.

"The erudition, wisdom, courage and vision of many women among the Companions of the Prophet has lived on in the lives of successive generations of Muslim women. This includes many of the noble women in our communities today. We may not know of most of their contributions and most are not in the public eye, but women hold the foundation of our homes and society. Islam certainly advocates for a balanced social order where there is space for both the contributions of men and women" - Imam Zaid Shakir (may Allah swt preserve him)
Ibn Taymiyya (r) said: The Way of those Shuyukh of Tasawwuff is to call people to Allah's Divine Presence and obedience to the Prophet (Majma'a Fatawa Ibn Taymiyya, Dar ar-Rahmat, Cairo. Vol 11. Pg 497)

“We either make ourselves miserable, or we make ourselves strong. The amount of work is the same.”
“A man of knowledge lives by acting, not by thinking about acting. ”
"What is wrong with us human beings, and has been wrong since time immemorial, is that without ever stating it in so many words, we believe that we have entered the realm of immortality. We behave as if we are never going to die - an infantile arrogance. But even more injurious than this sense of immortality is what comes with it : the sense that we can engulf this inconcievable universe with our minds."“I have never debated with a knowledgeable person but beaten him, and I have never debated with an ignorant person but been beaten by him.”
- Imam al-Shafi`i (May Allah have mercy on him)

"To be courageous is to not, not be afraid. Being afraid does not make you a coward. To be a coward however is to allow yourself to be paralysed by your fear" - Dr Sherman Jackson (may Allah swt preserve him)
Ibn Taymiyya (r) said: The Way of those Shuyukh of Tasawwuff is to call people to Allah's Divine Presence and obedience to the Prophet (Majma'a Fatawa Ibn Taymiyya, Dar ar-Rahmat, Cairo. Vol 11. Pg 497)

"I was leading prayer at a masjid and a child was crying and running around. It got a little loud and folks began to get upset. After prayers I found out she is a single mother. Her husband, after he got his green card (immigration approved), ran out on her and left her with this precious (SUN)!
Folks, always remember to give love before you give hate, compassion before judgement and your heart before your tongue. The reality in some communities is that children are being raised by single parents, just like Imam al-Shafi'i and Imam al-Bukhari, and the men, or women, in the masajid are their surrogate parents. The youth, their surrogate brothers and sisters. " - Imam Suhaib Webb.

"Do not go where the path may lead; go instead where there is no path and leave a trail." - Ralph Waldo Emerson
O you who believe! Stand out firmly for Allâh as just witnesses and let not the enmity and hatred of others make you avoid justice. Be just: that is nearer to piety, and fear Allâh. Verily, Allâh is Well-Acquainted with what you do. (Al-Mā'idah: 8)

'Know that everyone should only talk about what might lead to benefit. When talking and being silent are equal in benefit, then the Sunnah is to be silent. This is because to be talkative will usually lead to uttering evil, even if it starts with seemingly harmless words. One should always be on the safe side, a state that is indeed desired.'
Imam An-Nawawi, Riyadh as-SaliheenO you who believe! Stand out firmly for Allâh as just witnesses and let not the enmity and hatred of others make you avoid justice. Be just: that is nearer to piety, and fear Allâh. Verily, Allâh is Well-Acquainted with what you do. (Al-Mā'idah: 8)

Mousa: Very good. It says, 'May God deliver us from the venom of the Cobra, teeth of the tiger, and the vengeance of the Afghan.' Understand what this means?
Rambo: That you guys don't take any shit?
Mousa: Yes ... something like this.

الطلاق يمين الفُسَّاق
This translates to, divorce is the oath of the fussaaq, that is, people who are fasiq. This is in reference to those men who swear they will divorce their wives over every little thing. I watch these fatwa shows a lot, and the amount of women who call over their husbands swearing to divorce them, it's just ridiculous and sad.
The best (that is worst) ever though was when a woman calls in asking about a divorce. She said, "my husband was watching the fatwa channel so he said 'divorce divorce, everything is divorce, you are divorced', does it count as a divorce?"
The mufti was Saami As-Sarsawi, heart of gold but very irritable and gruff demeanor sometimes, he was like "WHAT?!", well not really that verbatim, but he was just shocked. The best is how he takes off his glasses before answering questions, and depending on the severity of the frown, you know it's gonna be bad.

It takes discipline not to recognize the element of truth in historian Arno Mayer’s immediate post-9/11 observation that since 1947, “America has been the chief perpetrator of ‘preemptive’ state terror” and innumerable other “‘rogue’ actions,” causing immense harm, “always in the name of democracy, liberty, and justice.” - Noam Chomsky.

"If you love someone, you dress the way they dress, you speak the language they speak, you eat the way they eat, you do everything they do, and this is what we need to do in regards to our Beloved Prophet sal Allahu 'alayhi wa aalihi wa sallam. Religion is all about moral character; therefore, whoever beats you in character beats you in religion."

how gentle you are with me
in spite of my great ignorance
and how merciful You are with me
in spite of my uncomely deeds.
