It's not the sin, its nature, or its magnitude that matters most. It is the reaction of the heart to that sin and its realisation of the Greatness of the One disobeyed - a crucial test of whether our hearts are alive or dead. -Suhaib Fahmy-

One of the leaders of the emperors of the Tatars was very wealthy and powerful. He was a blood thirsty tyrant who was attacking the Muslim world and was destroying everything that he could see. It is said that he killed 2 million in Baghdad.

Al-'izz Ibn Abdul-Salaam went with his students to meet with this emperor. He started speaking to him normally, than he started to raise his voice and pointing his finger in his face. He was threatening him with hellfire and with the punishment of Allaah and making du'a against him. His students started wrapping up their clothes because they were waiting for a sword to cut off his head and they did not want blood to splash all over them.

When they walked out, they asked their teacher "What were you doing? How were you able to stand up to him?"

He said "When I imagined the Greatness of Allaah in front of my eyes, than this man became smaller than a cat."
"...The eyes are filled with tears and the heart is full of grief but we do not say anything except that which is pleasing to our lord.."

When one door of happiness closes, another opens; but often we look so long at the closed door that we do not see the one that has opened up for us.

Yesterday is a dream, and tomorrow is only a vision, but today well lived makes every yesterday a dream of happiness and every tomorrow a vision of hope.I never saw anyone as just as the world. As long as you pursue the world it will pursue you, but when you turn away from it and seek God, it will leave you alone and its glamor shall no longer fascinate you.

Wild animals can hurt when they are afraid when they are going to hurt you first.
But if you approach them gently, without fear or excitement, they are unlikely to. People are the same,
    go gently

Abu Hurairah (ra) related that The Messenger of Allah, sal Allahu alayhi wa salla, said:

"Seek out that which benefits you, seek help only from Allah and never say you can't do it. "If any adversity comes to you, do not say: 'If I had only acted in such-and-such a way, it would have been such-and-such;' but instead, say: 'Allah has decreed (it) and what He willed, He has done,' for verily, (the word) (if) opens the way for the work of Satan."

All humans are dead except those who have knowledge, and all those who have knowledge are asleep, except those who do good deeds, and those who do good deeds are decieved, except those who are sincere, and those who are sincere are always in a state of worry.

My son, when you pray, do it like a person who is bidding farewell to this world, and dont assume you will have another chance to pray again. My son know that a believer dies in between two deeds, one he offers for today, where he will get immediate blessings, and the second deed is what he offers towards the day of resurrection, and that is where he will gain the ultimate benefits. [Muadh Ibn Jabal] (radiAllahu anhu)
