How good is life in this world for a believer because he uses it to prepare his provisions for Paradise. And how evil it is for a disbeliever who uses it to prepare his provisions for Hell. [Al-Hasan Al-Basree]

The planning of the Almighty Allah is better for you than your own planning, and he could deprive you from what you ask to test your patience. So let him see from you a determined patience and you will soon see from him what will give you joy... then everything that happens to you is better for you whether you were given or deprived of what you have requested." [Imaam Ibn Al-Jawzee]

Disobedience causes the favors (of Allah) to cease and make His revenge lawful.
No blessing ceases to reach a servant except due to a sin and no retribution is made lawful upon him except due to a sin. Allah the Exalted said, "Whatever misfortune afflicts you then it is due to what your hands have earned and (yet) He pardons many." (42:30).
And the Exalted also said, "That is because never will Allah change the favor He has bestowed on a people until they change what is with themselves." (8:53).Learn from yesterday, live for today, hope for tomorrow.
O you who believe! Seek help in patience and As-Salat (the prayer). Truly! Allah is with As-Sabirin (the patient ones.). (Chapter 2, Verse 153)

Verily for everything that a slave loses there is a substitute, but the one who loses Allah will never find anything to replace Him. [Ibn Al-Qayyim]

There is no captive in a worse state than the one who is captivated by his worst enemy (Shaytan) and there is no prison which is tighter than the prison of hawa (desire) and there is no bond/fetter more strong than the bond of desire. How, then, will a heart which is captivated, imprisoned and fettered travel unto Allah and the Home of the Hereafter?
Ibn Qayyim Al Jawziyyah
