‎"It is a most amazing thing that you should continue to be unmindful, chasing after vain desires, wasting your time in disregard of this most important matter, for you are being driven at a fierce pace (towards death) day and night, hour by hour, like the blink of an eye." [Imam Ahmad ibn Hanbal]

“The servant exists between the Hands of Allah at two times - while standing during performing prayer, and while standing on the Day of Resurrection. Whoever fulfills the rights of the first standing, will in fact be facilitating the second one. And whoever considers this easy and does not pay due atte...ntion to it, he will be making the other one difficult for himself.” [Ibnul Qayyim in al-Fawaa’id]

gee, sis, you're on a roll
Whoever remembers death often will find a small amount (of worldly things) sufficient for him; and whoever includes his speech in his deeds will speak little.

Indeed, the wasteful are brothers of the devils, and ever has Satan been to his Lord ungrateful. (Surat al Isra': 27)

Do not ask one who flees from your requests, but instead, ask the One Who has ordered you to ask of Him. [Ibn al-Samaak]

Three things destroy a person: Persisting in sins with false hopes of repentance; delaying repentance with the delusion of long life; and despairing of His mercy. [Shaqeeq al Balkhi]

::Food for Thought:: Prayer is the soul getting into contact with the God in Whom it believes. Prayer is a cry of hope. He who prays without confidence cannot hope that his prayers will be granted. Prayer should be the key of the day and the lock of the night.

There are four characteristics that if one possesses them, Allah protects him from Satan: the one who controls himself in a state of craving, fearing, desiring (or lusting) and being angry. [Hasan al-Basri]

The sign that Allah has turned away from a servant is that He makes him busy with matters that are of no concern to him -- when a person reaches such a point, he must repent and ask Allah to guide him to those matters that are important and beneficial. [Hasan al-Basri]

‎::Food for Thought:: To repent is to alter one's way of looking at life; it is to take God's point of view instead of one's own. True repentance is to cease from sin. To do it no more is truest repentance. God has promised pardon to him that repents, but he has not promised repentance to him that sins.

I carry a matchbox in my pocket not because I smoke, but to flame up my palm whenever I commit a sin, then ask myself, if I cannot bear the pain of that fire, how am I gonna bear the flames of hell?

"The life of this world is only the enjoyment of deception."
Learn from yesterday, live for today, hope for tomorrow.

O you who believe! Seek help in patience and As-Salat (the prayer). Truly! Allah is with As-Sabirin (the patient ones.). (Chapter 2, Verse 153)

Al-Hasan Al-Basri said when he came across a group of people disputing: “These ones have become tired of worship, speaking has become easy for them, and their piety has diminished, and that is why they talk.”
"...The eyes are filled with tears and the heart is full of grief but we do not say anything except that which is pleasing to our lord.."
