Should i become a police officer?

WHAT DO YU GUYS...MY MUSLIMS BROTHERS AND SISTERS SAY?

I SAY:
i wanted to be a copper since i was 12
i wanted to be a mechanic when i was 14
i wanted to be a copper again when i was 15
i wanted to be a pilot 2 months ago
i want to be a police officer even now, i wanna enter undercover polcing. ive talked to lots of police officers, 2 told me its hard n a crap job, the rest have told me they love it.

BUT...but-theres something wrong. like, i always felt something, like somewhere deep down my heart it tells me "sanna, its never gonna happen".
what do i do? ive always had dreams when im catching bad guys and driving, i drive now, but what about the "catching bad guys" part?
i will be doing part time Aalimah course insha ALLAH, i want to do something practical, i looked through fitness instructing, no good. i dont wanna be a sports coach. i will be a part time martail artist and open an "only girls dojo" so i can teach muslim girls to fight. but thats another stroy, i first have to be a proffessional mysself.
but i cant decide what prefernces i want to put for my UAC. i have tilll 28th september.
ANY SUGGESTIONS?

No you should not! There are many reasons, but dress issue is just one, as would be mixing with men in the force.
The proposed uniform for Muslims isn't accomodating of the Muslimah's dress...

subhanAllah sis in my J days i always wanted to be a police officer and i never thought about it islamically, untill now i learnt about islam and alhmdullilah became practicing muslim i regret the fact even thinking about being a police officer

1. dress code/ hijab
2. free mixing
3. married and police force Nahhhh doesn't mix
the top 2 just gives it no chance islamically

I agree with the above, and not only is there the issue of free mixing, but part of the job means you have to physically handle males. You can't selectively only handcuff or handle females. Also as part of the job you'll need to go into areas which are not fit for Muslims (male and female), which might include nightclubs, drug filled areas, pubs, strip clubs etc.

hmm I dunno, I wanted to be a police officer, but that didnt happen, i didnt feel it to be practical, nor was i happy with it's dress code, nor was I happy to sit near a male (bcos they team you up). so now I'm doing Teaching and journalism (or write childrens islamic books). just one qs, can you imagine taking up a profession like that? don't forget you will one day have kids Insha'Allah, Like personally speaking I can't c myself comming home in a police outfit to my kids i dunno why lol. It's something I can't see doing long run, I hope I'm making sense. Sis if you like excersis, You can do that at home Insha'allah or at a womens gym you don't have to take up a profession in that, you also need to excersis your brain religiously and on a secular level. Why don't you take up a profession other than sports that can benefit the ummah especially in the long run, and simply have sports as a hobby? you will love it as a hobby insha'allah.

Being a cop would be sooooo cool (even though I'm so not cop-material). Cops are cool! But I gotta admit, it doesn't seem very accommodating for Muslim women here in Australia. I guess you should consider something else.

conveying islam and teaching non muslims about it is a dream for me, that why im gonna do my part time islam and work to teach non muslims in work or uni.
man i smetimes think I DONT HAVE TO DO ANYTHING! i dont HAVE to have a career, but i dont wanna sit home or my mum will get me married. i wouldnt mind doing policing so no guy wants to marry me .
ok now getting serious, I like other things, u know i could be a nurse. na not my type. but i like helping people. i know! ill sell eggs for a living!
my dad wants me to take over his business, my sister wnats me to join her business, everyone agrees...BUT SHE IS A BEAUTICIAN!
look at me! "me" and "beautician" are like "YES" and "NO". i do the henna on the bride and she does the make-up. yeh right.

Well I'm a bit late but I agree with the above. I personally don't think it is a suitable career for a large number of reasons.

Other than that - I don't know what area. It'll depend on your interest and your skills which only you really know best. You could always sit with a career counsellor and have a look at your options.

You'd think all cops do is hang around nightclubs and strip clubs and man handle people.

There is a sister in hijjab in the Dandenong area who is a jack, you can try and get into contact with her and ask her about the job and how she gets on.

You could also try the Federal Police.
