If i do a search for my old posts it only goes back to April of this year. Why doesn't it search the posts from the beginning of my sign-up?

You can't, search results are (currently) capped at 500.

As Ahmad said they are capped at 500. I might set a higher limit but I can't limit it only to username searches without changing some actual code which I probably won't do. I'll have a look later on today to see how much of an effect a higher limit will have on the server.

im assuming because there are so many 3 letter words on this forum... that the forum software would get overwhelmed with trying to search... and fall flat on its knees... and take everything else down with it...

As above it adds too much strain to include words like the and etc

But sometimes three letter words are integral... like that time I was trying to find the kfc thread, only to have the search thing tell me it can't look for kfc because its too short.

Oh well.

Yeah I know it can be frustrating but it is common to leave them out because it can put a strain on searches with words like 'the' 'and' etc being included in a search.

Sister you can search for kfc by adding an * after kfc. eg kfc*
It will return results with any work that starts with kfc.
