As for the Afghan Rice Yuuuummmm I'd like the recipe too
I made the yellow rice in the rice cooker but I was so embarrassed as I didn't know aussiemu was bringing rice.......I would have brought something else.
I hadn't been keeping up with the thread.
Anyway glad someone liked it Alhamdulillah
It' s called KICHIDI it's an indian dish and heres my version anyway.
fry 1-2 onions in the base of the rice cooker and when brown add 2-3 cardamoms(elaichi) and 2-3 cloves (laoong)
add some ginger garlic paste then add 5 cups washed rice and 1 cup red lentils.
fry a little more then add water i used 8 cups water .
add salt to taste and 1-2 tsp of turmeric and turn the rice cooker on.
it's nice with a mince meat dish or a tomato curry

Just an idea

Mods put all recipes posted in non-recipe areas into their own categories.
For example, when someone adds a rice recipe like Ukhtunaa UmMKY did because it was (indirectly) asked off her, put it into a thread regarding rice in the "Eat Halal - Food & Recipes" Category perhaps?
Otherwise, if someone said they liked this recipe, and two years later wanted to try it, they have easier reference to it in a specific thread, as opposed to looking for it in a thread about iftaar... "Oh geez, I wanna make that yummy rice I got the recipe for off AM, but which iftaar thread was it? 2007, 2009? Oh wait, was it the 'What did you have for iftaar' thread, or that 'AM Iftar' thread? I wish they had a specific thread about rice recipes!"
I hope I drove my point home
Sorry for the headache
