A woman was waiting at an airport one night
With several long hours before her flight
She hunted for a book in the airport shop
Bought a bag of cookies and found a place to drop
She was engrossed in her book but happened to see
That the man beside her as bold as could be
Grabbed a cookie or two from the bag between
Which she tried to ignore to avoid a scene
She munched cookies and watched the clock
As this gutsy cookie thief diminished her stock
She was getting more irritated as the minutes ticked by
Thinking "If I wasn't so nice I'd blacken his eye"
With each cookie she took he took one too
And when only one was left she wondered what he'd do
With a smile on his face and a nervous laugh
He took the last cookie and broke it in half
He offered her half as he ate the other
She snatched it from him and thought "Oh brother
This guy has some nerve and he's also rude
Why he didn't even show any gratitude"
She had never known when she had been so galled
And sighed with relief when her flight was called
She gathered her belongings and headed for the gate
Refusing to look back at the thieving ingrate
She boarded the plane and sank in her seat
Then sought her book which was almost complete
As she reached in her baggage she gasped with surprise
There was her bag of cookies in front of her eyes
"If mine are here" she moaned with despair
"Then the others were his and he tried to share"
"Too late to apologize she realized with grief"
That she was the rude one, the ingrate, the thief

great poem!
but i knew it was coming because i remember watching an indian
movie a long time ago and it was very similar, but the lady was a hindu
and she bought a bowl of rice without meat, and there was another guy
who bought rice with beef in it who was muslim...and so she went to the
bathroom and when she came back she thought hed taken her seat
so she snatched his plate off him very rudely and ate it without realising it had beef
in it, and the guy was so nice about it, he even offered her tea, then when she got up to leave she saw her plate and bags on the other table and realised she eaten the mans food....wonderful meaning"There are only two tradgedies in life; one is not getting what one wants, and the other is getting it"

LOL I was reading that thinking: I bet the cookie thief is part of her imagination, she just doesn't wanna admit how much she ate LOL. Much more witty ending thanks.

I was reading it thinking the Cookie theif was going to be the shaytaan because she forgot to say "Bismillah".
How embarassing if something like that really did happen! lolThe one who is (truly) imprisoned is the one whose heart is imprisoned from Allah and the captivated one is the one whose desires have enslaved him. Ibn Taymiyyah (Rahimahullah)

I must admit, I was thinking like this also, except for the bit in light grey.
I liked the train of thought how Ukhtunaa Precious_Diamond portrayed the matter as well...
Either way, beautiful ending... I really loved it...
Habibi Musa.

lol im happy i made you smile atleast bro, you probably find it funny because theres like all these fancy brands out there costing 4-6 dollars for 350grams of cookies.
But coles brand has 1 500 gram packet costing just over 2 bucks. Its got heaps of choc chips in it and is delicious with coffee or when you want to feel full, so when you think about it, spend 4 dollars and you get 1KILOGRAM OF COOKIES! 1 kg of cookies VS 350 grams of light fluffy little bit better tasting cookie's with a fancy packet.
its gonna b coles brand 4 me.
im not ashamed to buy no frills, and i get the last laugh sine ive got an endless supply of cookies, infact, i have 2 kilos in my mums pantry right now. Go for the cheap stuff its better, but always take the taste test, some quality brands are V necessary.
On ya isa, and dont be gloomy bro, with every hard ship there is relief.

How canst thou say to thy brother,Brother, let me pull out the mote that is in thine eye, when thou thyself beholdest not the beam that is in thine own eye? Thou hypocrite, cast out first the beam out of thine own eye, and then shalt thou see clearly to pull out the mote that is in thy brother's eye.

Did anyone play the cookie game when they were in primary?
It went something like this..
Everyone: Who stole the cookie from the cookie jar?
Khaled: It was Musa!
Musa: Who me??
Everyone: Yes you!
Musa: I didn't steal the cookie from the cookie jar!
Everyone: Than who stole the cookie from the cookie jar?
Musa: isa!
and so on..."...The eyes are filled with tears and the heart is full of grief but we do not say anything except that which is pleasing to our lord.."
