Islam_Junkie: I think that's the one! Decadent.. sounds strikingly familiar.

I bought a packet of Arnotts Choc Chip Chocolate base cookies yesterday.. I think it was a 325g bag for $1.98 (yes, that's exact!) but don't ask me what they taste like. I think they're already gone

I just bought another couple of bags of the Coles ones, today.

I also bought some thickened cream...

Once my wife comes home from her friends (I asked the Sister my wife is visiting to explain how to make those cookie cakes with thickened cream, and asked my wife to learn from the Sister as well), I am going to start making cookie cake

Ermmm... I think this is a well deserved place to put ...

Dear Mods, can we please move this thread to the food section?

    Ukhtunaa SuBMiSSioN,

    But no.

They however, in their own right look quite delicious

I may try them later on

The one this Sister makes is she gets cream between layers of cookies (around 10 cookies per pile).

She then packs them in side by side in a tray, and has them wait overnight.

Then it becomes like a cream cake... (Enter Homer)... Cookkiieeeessss!!!! Mmm!!!! Caaaakeeee!!!!! Mmmmgurgrhmmmgrg... Creeeaam Caaakee!!!! Hohohrgsmmmghrmmm... *drool* Yuuummmm!

I think my wife just came

Wel.. it's done the same way as the link I posted.. but you just keep stacking the biscuits on top of each other rather then having them done as mini-cakes. Once they're stacked on top of each other, you can layer the cream all around the cake. Can be a lil' tricky though..

Indeed, it was my wife that arrived

She is in the process of making it now

Seriously, this thread should be moved to the Food Section though.

My wife made the first cake, and I made the second one with the remaining biscuits and cream... Here is the second plate I got to make, showing the cookies and creams under the coating of the whipped cream:

And the final product, ready for a stay in the fridge overnight, before I devour it all

    - A 600ml thickened cream, turned into whiped cream, and
    - Approximately a 500g bag of the coles choc-chip cookies for $2.05c with
    - Approximately 9 cookies with whipped cream between them, making sure that you press the cookies together so that there is no space between the each of the cookies, and the cream fills the gaps.
    - Laid on a plate, and the remaining cream will be smeared over the result,
    - With some chocolate powder sprinkled over the top, gives the following result b'idhni'L-Laah:

Now Mods, please move the thread to the food section already

That cake is the Choc ripple cake but with different biscuits. I made it just a while ago. It's really yummy with the Choc Ripple Biscuits.

    Exactly!

And I fell in love with the choc ripple cake when I had some of that as well!

Same Sister that told us how to make this, made and sent us some, back in the day.

Which chocolate biscuits would be advised for that "cake"?

Also, should the whipped cream have anything added to it, or will the overnight saturation of the biscuits turn the flavour/colour into something else naturally?

So you do just one layer of cream and then its ready the next day? Does it fully absorb the cream?

This website says you need to keep topping up the cream over a few days:
    http://barinya.com/family/recipes/De...kes_Recipe.htm

I have never made this before I can't wait to try it Insha'allah.

No, we were told to just do as I have, and that it would be ready overnight.

By the way, the cake is covered in cling wrap whilst in fridge.

Umm.. I doubt the cake lasts more than a day to need to top up the cake lol. I have lots of males in my family

isa: The Choc Ripple Biscuits. I add a tbsp of icing sugar to my whipped cream. You can also add a few drops of vanilla flavouring.

After the basic cake you can eperiment. You could add strawberries on top of the cake.. you could soak the biscuits in coffee as mentioned (not soak because it will make it too soggy). You could add coffee/chocolate flavouring to the actual whipped cream too. Lots of different stuff.
