Bismillah walhamdulillah wassalaatu wassalaam 'alaa Muhammad

Assalaamu 'Álaikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakaatuh

Reading through some recent posts has motivated to share the following with you.

I have this friend (may Allah preserve him). Many people look at him and don't think too much of him.

If a congregation of prayer is about to start, he is not the person that people would consider to lead the prayer. In fact, he is the kind of person most look at and immediately expect to find outside a nightclub or fighting in a back alley or hanging out with the wrong crowd, etc.

However, I admire this brother and love him dearly. Why? Because even though he may not appear to be the best of people to many and suffers from many faults (as we all do), when he learns something he sticks to it.

If you tell him something is wrong you often find that he does his utmost to avoid it. When you tell him something is good, you often find that he does his utmost to follow it. Even though he has many other good and bad qualities, this reason in particular makes me admire him. What he knows of the religion (even if it be very little) he seems to stick to firmly. And Allah knows him better than I.

Truly, there are people who are considered worthless in this world, yet to Allah they are are held in high esteem. I hope that my friend (may Allah have mercy on him) is of them. Similarly, there are people who are of high esteem in this world, yet to Allah they aren't. May Allah protect us all from being of them.

Alhamdulillah, I have seen my friend change for the better. I hope that both him and I improve constantly. I hope that our knowledge is for us and not against us. I hope that we are people of Jannah.

SubhanAllah, may Allah guide us and forgive our sins and make us people of Jannaatul-Firdaus, wassalaatu wassalaam 'alaa Muhammad

Wassalaamu 'Alaikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakaatuh

SubhanAllah, do you know after reading that, i love your friend for the sake of Allah subhanahu wata3alah even though i don't know him wallah!!, I know many people like this as well and it irritates me when people judge based on outer appearance!!

having little knowlege and acting upon it is better than having someone who eats books yet doesnt act!! I wish I was like him, Masha'Allah!
If you make intense supplication and the timing of the answer is delayed, do not despair of it. His reply to you is gauranteed; but in the way He chooses, not the way you choose, and at the moment He desires, not the moment you desire.

    SubhanAllah! Masha-Allah! Great reminder walhamdulillah!

Allow me to also add to this great quote, that having a great deal of knowledge and acting upon it is best of all.

SubhanAllah, may Allah grant us the best of knowledge and understandng and make us of those who act upon what we know, wassalaatu wassalaam 'alaa Muhammad

    Assalamu alaykum,

Did this occur in a Sydney mosque?
A foolish man may be known by six things: Anger without cause, speech without profit, change without progress, inquiry without object, putting trust in a stranger, and mistaking foes for friends.
