    salaam alaykum all,

Was anyone at the festival on the weekend? The MEF event not the "Turkish" one. I was disgusted to find the only prayer area for women on saturday was a change room with the qibla facing the toilets! There was a tent all set up for the men but nothing for the women. I think it is terrible that an islamic event cannot get organised enough to provide a space for the women to pray. they were however organised enough to collect the money from everyone on entry!

Sorry just letting off some steam.

    Assalamu Alaikum

I didn't attend the Broadmeadows festival on the weekend so from what i have heard about it I am happy that i didn't.

They (the organisers) need to get their act together.
The thing that never ceases to amaze me is that whenever there is an islamic event and they lack in certain areas why is it that the female areas are the areas that lack and not the male area now that is something that I would like to know. Dont us woman have the right to have appropriate and comfortable places to pray in also considering that we woman generally have our children and babies with us at these times also which should be taken into account.

    Wasalam

My wife told me she prayed once in the IISNA stall as they didn't have a women's prayer area... maybe the festival will be only for men soon, like our masajid even though the susters' hjave the mosts islamic stalls.

Also I noticed that the brothers from IISNA didn't do as much on stage stuff... a lot of the da'wah was done without the mic in the prayer area.

I have never attended a festival that I found "Islamic", and I am suprised people actually attend expecting it to be Islamic.

What really annoys me about the "Muslim" Eid Festival,
Is how it is mix not only that, I don’t mind, I do understand the organizers are doing a great job, jazahum Allah keer, of course they can't run too "Eid festivals" all at once one for women and the other for men, pretty hard. but that doesn't really matters, what matters to me and got me so angry and frustrated about their "Muslim" Eid festival", there are way too much fittnaa which is not suitable for my heart and others, however I have not being going there for a very long time because as you know Allah knows what will happen to my heart when I am back home.

    From what I have seen:
fights, dressing in approupert, teens kissing, I can not walk and close my eyes, I do understand that it's Eid and everyone is happy but they should show some respect to our Islamic Eid Festival.
There are limits for every thing in life. I really needed to say this because I did not want to lay it in my heart its not something samall, so here is the best opportunity spit it out.

    may ALLAH stratghten us all

Don’t you ever wonder why we have disasters (earthquakes, sunamies, wars, etc in our Islam Countries?

I strongly believe its Allah's anger on the uhmma.

I know a hadith on this issue but I can't remember it very well.

I am sure some of you might have heard of it somewhere.

Best to just keep away and avoid the fitnah

InshaAllah, I'll be in Broady on Sunday. ^^

we'll first of all i strongly disagree going to the eid festival whic hwas already held,
the reason is, not that im anti anything, though i dont agree going to a festival which most profit will go to one mans hand, ive heard and "yes" its true a man named Muhammed who organises the events pockets up to $200,000 dollars each year from the festival.
this should be a community event, not a single mans event.
The turkish festival is a festival running for about 15 years so far, and is backed up by the Meadow Heights mosque, which they organise the event, also is Ilim Colleges Admin. They make very little profit, and that profit goes towards the community mosque. better then going to a mans pocket,
Any festival is fine to me beside that eid festival,
