The Shawshank Redemption gets me all the time. Beautifully crafted film - sad and uplifting at the same time. Plus no rude bits.

"Keep yourself busy in remembering your faults, so that you have no time to remember the faults of others. Be sad for the time you spent in other than the pursuit of your Hereafter. Cry frequently for the wrongs you have committed and perhaps you will then be saved from them..." Sufyan ath-Thawri

He does get gangraped, however is not shown and unless you are old enough you may not even realise what just happened. I first saw it when I was 11 and never even realised until years later what had happened.
Shawshank Redemption though has to be in my top 5 movies of all time, if not even number 2.. Great call Cem

^ ditto, but I believe it's already been mentioned a couple of times in this thread already.
Isn't there also a scene at the beginning when his wife is committing adultery? Or don't they show anything? Also there's the part when he's being admitted into prison and being sprayed down and covered in baby powder? I've watched it way too many times and usually skip these parts but yeah I'm going from vague memory here...The Biggest Enemy of Islam is Ignorance.

Well in adult scenes just turn your head the other way close your eyes and scream your heart out _IS IT FINISHED YET _ like my baby daughter.

What channel? MBC1? Is that even a channel?
Whoever remembers death often will find a small amount (of worldly things) sufficient for him; and whoever includes his speech in his deeds will speak little.

Oh it's in Arabic, no chance of subtitles I suppose?

This is a short video regarding the creation of the show on Umar ibn al-Khattab radiaallahu anhu. It talks about the actors that are portraying these noble companions and the negative effects of imitating them. It also shows examples from other similar shows wherein they make mistakes in relating the Qur'an (from about 4:30). The point is made that if such shows make mistakes in the recitation of the Qur'an, then imagine how relaxed they will be about relating an accurate historic picture of the Companions."Islam began as something strange, and it shall return to being something strange, so give glad tidings to the strangers." - Hadith

So they are attacking the Sahaba by making a film about their critical roles in Islamic history. Not sure how that works.
When an Imam makes a mistake reciting the Qu'ran in taraweeh, we don't make du3a that Allah humiliates him. Nor do we conclude he must be lax in other areas of his life. If you watch the actual film, it's quite good from both a historical perspective and so far, Qu'ranic quotes have been correct.
This archaic taboo is unfounded by the way and I think it's a great initiative in Ramadan to educate the masses about pivotal figures in Islamic history.

Watched Capitalism: A Love Story on SBS last night. Very Interesting. Demonstrates how Jewish bankers control the US.
Singapore: oppresses Muslims, bans athaan, bans hijab in schools, prevents building of madrassahs or muslim schools, puts limit on the percentage of Muslims allowed in each apartment building, and bans Muslims from joining Singapore's elite military forces. Singapore; Israel's best buddy!
