it was reported by Imaam Ahmed in his Musnad (No. 303) through Omar ibn Al Khattab that the Prophet peace be upon Him said

" there isn't a night that passes except the sea comes towards the land three times seeking permission from Allah to flood it (the land) and Allah prevents him from that "

but this Hadith is weak because the chain of narration has two unknown people in it and it's the only one.

look at Al Silsilah Al Dha'eefah by Al Albani (9/383) and Dha'eef Al Jami' by him as well (Hadith no. 4832) and Al 'Ilal Al Mutanaahiyah by Ibn Al Jawzi (1/52) and Tafseer Ibn Katheer (the begining of Surat Al Toor)

I'm looking for a hadith about how the prayers were prescribed as 5, I've heard a hadith that during the night of Miraj, the Prophet
was told to enforce a hundred or something amount of prayers a day on us but then Musa a.s stopped him and said to go back to Allah swt and make it less, is it authentic?
Whoever remembers death often will find a small amount (of worldly things) sufficient for him; and whoever includes his speech in his deeds will speak little.

Indeed, the wasteful are brothers of the devils, and ever has Satan been to his Lord ungrateful. (Surat al Isra': 27)

    Narrated Abu Dhar:

Allah's Apostle said, "While I was at Mecca the roof of my house was opened and Gabriel descended, opened my chest, and washed it with Zam-zam water. Then he brought a golden tray full of wisdom and faith and having poured its contents into my chest, he closed it. Then he took my hand and ascended with me to the nearest heaven, when I reached the nearest heaven, Gabriel said to the gatekeeper of the heaven, 'Open (the gate).' The gatekeeper asked, 'Who is it?' Gabriel answered: 'Gabriel.' He asked, 'Is there anyone with you?' Gabriel replied, 'Yes, Muhammad I is with me.' He asked, 'Has he been called?' Gabriel said, 'Yes.' So the gate was opened and we went over the nearest heaven and there we saw a man sitting with some people on his right and some on his left. When he looked towards his right, he laughed and when he looked toward his left he wept. Then he said, 'Welcome! O pious Prophet and pious son.' I asked Gabriel, 'Who is he?' He replied, 'He is Adam and the people on his right and left are the souls of his offspring. Those on his right are the people of Paradise and those on his left are the people of Hell and when he looks towards his right he laughs and when he looks towards his left he weeps.'

Then he ascended with me till he reached the second heaven and he (Gabriel) said to its gatekeeper, 'Open (the gate).' The gatekeeper said to him the same as the gatekeeper of the first heaven had said and he opened the gate. Anas said: "Abu Dhar added that the Prophet met Adam, Idris, Moses, Jesus and Abraham, he (Abu Dhar) did not mention on which heaven they were but he mentioned that he (the Prophet ) met Adarn on the nearest heaven and Abraham on the sixth heaven. Anas said, "When Gabriel along with the Prophet passed by Idris, the latter said, 'Welcome! O pious Prophet and pious brother.' The Prophet asked, 'Who is he?' Gabriel replied, 'He is Idris." The Prophet added, "I passed by Moses and he said, 'Welcome! O pious Prophet and pious brother.' I asked Gabriel, 'Who is he?' Gabriel replied, 'He is Moses.' Then I passed by Jesus and he said, 'Welcome! O pious brother and pious Prophet.' I asked, 'Who is he?' Gabriel replied, 'He is Jesus.

Then I passed by Abraham and he said, 'Welcome! O pious Prophet and pious son.' I asked Gabriel, 'Who is he?' Gabriel replied, 'He is Abraham. The Prophet added, 'Then Gabriel ascended with me to a place where I heard the creaking of the pens." Ibn Hazm and Anas bin Malik said: The Prophet said, "Then Allah enjoined fifty prayers on my followers when I returned with this order of Allah, I passed by Moses who asked me, 'What has Allah enjoined on your followers?' I replied, 'He has enjoined fifty prayers on them.' Moses said, 'Go back to your Lord (and appeal for reduction) for your followers will not be able to bear it.' (So I went back to Allah and requested for reduction) and He reduced it to half. When I passed by Moses again and informed him about it, he said, 'Go back to your Lord as your followers will not be able to bear it.' So I returned to Allah and requested for further reduction and half of it was reduced. I again passed by Moses and he said to me: 'Return to your Lord, for your followers will not be able to bear it. So I returned to Allah and He said, 'These are five prayers and they are all (equal to) fifty (in reward) for My Word does not change.' I returned to Moses and he told me to go back once again. I replied, 'Now I feel shy of asking my Lord again.' Then Gabriel took me till we '' reached Sidrat-il-Muntaha (Lote tree of; the utmost boundry) which was shrouded in colors, indescribable. Then I was admitted into Paradise where I found small (tents or) walls (made) of pearls and its earth was of musk."

    Assalaamu alaikum warahmatullaah,

How sound is this? People are spreading it without source.

You're single, because the most merciful is busy writing the best love story for you. Those who care for you may say: If anything happens to you, I'll be beside you but the Almighty says: Nothing will happen to you as long as I'm with you.

I'm looking for the hadith that talks about saying ameen when you're making a dua'a instead of inshaa'Allaah. If someone can hook me up with it, it'd be great as my searching skills atm aren't so great.

Funnily enough, I was just reading through the hajj book on may into work today and that hadith was mentioned, narrated by Anas ibn Malik radiallahu anhu:

Anas reported Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) as saying:
When one of you makes supplication, he should supplicate with a will and should not say: O Allah, confer upon me if Thou likest, for there is none to coerce Allah.
    http://sunnah.quran.com/view/urn/264770 <-- excellent site btw

The hadith is also mentioned as being in Bukhari with number 6638 (no mention of which book, though) but I couldn't find it on the above site. The Arabic wording was practically the same, though.
"Islam began as something strange, and it shall return to being something strange, so give glad tidings to the strangers." - Hadith

    Don't worry I think I found it-

The Prophet said: “A dream is hanging on the leg of a bird until it is interpreted. As soon as it is interpreted (accurately) it happens as it was interpreted.” (Abu Daawood and Ibn Maajah – Al-Albaani graded it Saheeh [sound])

Can someone verify this for me?

The prophet ( peace be upon him said) : "The people of the west ( of my followers) will remain victorious and on the truth all the way up to the last hour" ( sahih Muslim universal reference number 3551)
Religion is all about moral character; therefore, whoever beats you in character beats you in religion."

    It is in Saheeh Muslim.
Singapore: oppresses Muslims, bans athaan, bans hijab in schools, prevents building of madrassahs or muslim schools, puts limit on the percentage of Muslims allowed in each apartment building, and bans Muslims from joining Singapore's elite military forces. Singapore; Israel's best buddy!

Looking for the authenticity of this hadith:

The Prophet sallallahu allaihi wa sallam said "whoever seeks forgiveness for their fellow brothers and sisters, then a good deed will be written for him and every single believing man and woman."

This is what I found in Saheeh Muslim, in the chapter on leadership:

    لاَ يَزَالُ أَهْلُ الْغَرْبِ ظَاهِرِينَ عَلَى الْحَقِّ حَتَّى تَقُومَ السَّاعَة

    5067 الإمارة باب 53

I think perhaps the translation you had was not the best. I would translate as something like: "The people of the West will remain on manifest truth until the establishment of the Hour (the Day of judgement)"

I have read that scholars have differed over this meaning of "the West". But the opinion that seems most correct to me is that "the West" means the Hijaz eg. the land of Mecca and Madina.

There are other hadeeth which tell us how knowledge spreads out and returns to Madina periodically, and similar.

    And Allah knows best.

    Hadith no: 7
Narrated / Authority Of: Ibn Umar
Allah's Apostle said: Islam is based on (the following) five (principles): 1. To testify that none has the right to be worshipped but Allah and Muhammad is Allah's Apostle. 2. To offer the (compulsory congregational) prayers dutifully and perfectly. 3. To pay Zakat (i.e. obligatory charity) . 4. To perform Hajj. (i.e. Pilgrimage to Mecca) 5. To observe fast during the month of Ramadan.

OK, here's one for you researchers out there.
I heard this hadeeth and fell instantly in love with it, but I NEED to know its authenticity:
Some angels, 50,000 years before the creation of the heavens and the earth fell in sujud to Allah (swt) and will only raise their heads when the trumpet is blown (by Angel Israfil). When they raise their head from sujud, they will say to Allah ,"Glory be to You. We could not do justice (in worshipping you) befitting Your Majesty."
