Well you gotta cook the rice first.. I get a baking dish and put a cup of arborio rice with bout a litre of chicken stock, some tomato purée, S&P. You'll shouldn't add all the stock in at the same time. Each time some stock dissolves, mix the rice, add more stock, and it back in the oven. When rice is cooked (make sure it's well cooked and not soggy), grab some rice and roll it into a ball. Traditionally you add a cm piece of Mozzarella cheese in the middle of the ball, but I added some pesto instead. Roll the ball up so the pesto or mozzarella is hidden in the middle. Roll the balls in some plain flour, than some eggs, than bread crumbs than deep fry.

PS. rice will take bout 20-25 mins to cook, stirring each time stock dissolves

Oh I nearly forgot! Today I made dinner that I am quite proud of, so proud that I took a photo of it, but it is on my phone so InshaAllah I will post it in a few days time. Anyhoo, I made kinda like a vegetable biryani but with no set ingredients, I just chucked in a pot, onion, cumin seeds, clothes, cardamon pods, all spice, garam masala, cardamon powder, salt, tumeric, peas and corn, handful of crushed almonds, garlic and put 3 cups of rice. And walaa! It turned out quite nice MashaAllah, I'm very impressed seeing as I didn't do any measuring! Next to it we had Passage to India butter chicken. It was a hit with my in-laws too!

I love clothes, an essential part of many of my favorite dishes. Why just yesterday as I was eating a curry my sister made I ate a couple of clothes items as well as a cardamon pod. I liked the cardamon a lot, but clothes are mainly good for giving flavor and are best removed after the dish is cooked. Perhaps you can wash them for future use? Because they still taste really strong even after cooking. Just make sure to dry them after washing because we wouldn't want them to go bad being all soggy and stuff.

ok if anyone is thinking of making my creation, use ground cummin seeds or powder, I could taste it quite clearly in the rice.

Looks like the arancini will have to take a back seat till my next shopping trip, I just went and did all my shopping and forgot it!

I'll agree that biting into a clove can be unpleasant given their strong bitter taste. But Cardamon pods are awesome. When I bit into that one eating yesterday it made that bite's rating go from being a 7.5 to a solid 9.0. I'll admit some of the more compact pods can be a bit strong at times though, not always pleasant. But cloves are always kind of meh to bite into.

Lol I just remembered whay my little brother said as he complained that I was cooking for the day (was making biryani). He was annoyed and said "you pull more stuff out of it than you actually eat!". I was like that's how I like it kiddo, but then I went later on and did my best to remove the whole spices after it was cooked to make it a little more newb-friendly.

How canst thou say to thy brother,Brother, let me pull out the mote that is in thine eye, when thou thyself beholdest not the beam that is in thine own eye? Thou hypocrite, cast out first the beam out of thine own eye, and then shalt thou see clearly to pull out the mote that is in thy brother's eye.

Is it cold outside ? Am not hungry but I feel like eating, Can't sleep as the kids are still awake. Mmmmm...maybe I'll prepare the batter for tomorrow's breakfast.

    Pancake ...anyone ?
    1 cup SR flour
    1 cup milk
    1 egg

I'll probably double or triple the ingredients.
