Risottos aren't the easiest dishes to make, and cream based ones are even harder. I used some cream sauce which i made up the night before but I will post up a recipe later inshaAllaah of how to make it without any prep. You can substitute pumpkin for whatever you like. Spinach leaves are nice in cream risottos. Just add what you'd add when making a cream pasta eg chicken, avocado, etc

Tonight I had what i would describe as the most awesomest, most delicious snitzel meal ever. Mashallah, the snitzel alone was awesone, topped with that even awesomer sauce, just made it even better. Jazakaallahu kheiran to the brother that was responsible. It was beautiful!!!!!!!

My mum made kofta bil-khobz yesterday which I don't really dig so I decided to innovate a bit.

I took off the top layer of bread, topped with onion, tomato, pastirma and BBQ sauce and cooked in the sandwich grill (used to wads of aluminum foil to stop the grill from closing the entire way and squashing the sandwich).

    'twas nice, alhamdullilah:

You made a piece of awesomeness, and your sister was so overwhelmed she laughed out loud.

Anyway, sahtain u hana. I'm having some kabab with rice myself shortly if Allah wills it.

I cooked the meat on the stove and added some spice mix called 7 spices (i get it from arab shops and use it for all my meat), chucked in fried chopped almonds and chinese pine nuts. Stuffed the mixture into the capcicum, covered the open end with foil and placed it in the oven turning every 5-7mins, then took the foil off and placed it up right into the pan so that the top can get charred as well. Thats it!

I found it a bit boring, so my mum suggested to stuff some potatoes and tomatoes as well, and put them in a dish, and cover them with some water and tomato paste, and let them boil till cooked. That sounds yummier, ill give it a go one day

^Do you eat the actual pepper? Because I know that when my mom makes stuffed capsicum along with kusa mi7shi (so it's stuffed with the same rice/meat mixture kusa is usually stuffed with), the pepper exterior is not really supposed to be eaten. It's kind of just used to give the rice that flavor, which it really does. I didn't know that though, and always ate the whole thing anyway.

Edit: Also thanks for the recipe, I'm totally gonna go make that now cuz I'm a big fan of green peppers in food.

Capsicum is too formal, that's like me calling a toad "Bufonidae" or something :P

I'm feeling pretty bad at the moment...

Today I decided to make scrambled eggs in the microwave at work. Results weren't as good as I expected - far from it, to be honest.

To keep it short, I beat two eggs and a splash of milk together with a fork, added some pepper and chilli powder, mixed in a some frozen peas and corn and threw it all in the microwave for a little over two minutes.

The end result looked like this:

I think had I scrambled the eggs halfway through the cooking process, it would have cooked more evenly and came out a bit better. Don't know if I want to try anymore scrambled eggs in a nuker, though... Sunny-side up works fine but scrambled eggs and a microwave don't seem to want to get along.

On the bright side, I think Submission would like that seeing as not long ago she started a thread asking for cool science projects for kids

Nraf I think there are some things you can get to cook eggs in the microwave. Not sure what type f eggs though.

And that picture is not the prettiest picture around.

I bought pine nuts today, and those long almond pieces, as well as green peppers and onions. I had already bought the meat two days ago. I'm making this tomorrow insha Allah. I was actually gonna make it today, but I got busy with stuff and now it's too late.
