oh wow sister. mashallah!!!! one advice though: dont set this sort of standard (of cooking) from the start because 4 years down the track the hubby will ask, why is there only one dish on the table? You used to make 4-5 dishes LOL!!
and this would be my response bismillah, just eat and be content

It is those 4-5 dishes in the first few years that make up most of the 'marriage' weight that people put on though lol.

I added raw cashews at the end though.

Lol @ Iva, yeah man don't worry like I said I was just feeling super ambitious yesterday. Maybe because I was home all day for the first time in a long time so I went a bit crazy with the cooking .

Having said that, I wouldn't mind doing this every now and then as it was very nice to see NRaf so pleased MashaAllah, as well as my brother ofcourse, so the hard work really paid off .

I brought some with me to work so now I'm looking forward to lunch. And I just finished breakfast under a minute ago...

If its already marinated in something like lemon, than expect it to be properly a tiny bit cooked as the aid in the lemon would have begun he cooking process.

Ialsoit really depends how you like your salmon. Some like it raw, smoked, medium, well done etc so you need to be more specific.

Me personally don't like salmon lol but I have cooked it and seen it cooked.

Once my cousin bought some fresh salmon at the restaurant as the special of the day and we had some

Sprinkle so,e sea salton the skin. Everyone loves the skin bit of the salmon. Add bit of oil to the already hot pan and put than add the salmon, skin down, after a few seconds (when oil heats up). Do this on a medium to high heat for about 4-5 mites (depending on how thick the salmon is. The skin should be very crispy). Turn it around and another 3-4 minutes. Try scraping the top with a fork to see if it's flaky if it's, it should be ready. My cousin cooked all ours with a little pink in the centre. I personally would not bake fish in an oven because it is thinner than other proteins and more fragile and cooks quicker (unless it's like swimming in sauce like Samki harra)
Jazak Allah Khayr.

I prefer fresh fish too, but I got the marinated alaskan salmon from costco and needed to do a quick dinner. Alhamdulilah turned out good.

LOL

I was the opposite so now everything I do is fanshmastic (not really), the first year of our marriage was catered by My daddys pizza shop where I worked part time and ZumZum where my DH use to work (still miss their food! Best shishtawouk ever). And seeing as I was vegetarian newly eating meat, my husband was in no hurry to pressure me to cook as everything would come out charcoal anyway

Lol Sarah you're so cute MashaAllah

This is the recipe I used, it was the simplest I could find which is why I used it lol

Rose flavoured lassi with pistachios

Ingredients (Serve 1):*
*250ml of cold plain yogurt*
*100ml of cold milk*
1/2tbsp of sugar 1tbsp of honey
*1tsp of rose water*
*1 ice cube*
*1tsp of finely crushed raw pistachio*

Method: 1. Process yogurt, milk, honey, sugar, ice cube and rose water in a blender until all come together
2. Pour into a tall glass and sprinkle the crushed raw pistachio on top.

Website- http://jeroxie.com/addiction/rose-fl...ith-pistachios

Edit: I mixed my pistachios in and it tasted nicer.
Also, I couldn't find raw pistachios at safeway so just used pistachios that weren't specified as being raw or not.

I'm anti-pistachios.

The worst is whole cardamon though. Cardamon gives beautiful flavour to food but if you bite into one when eating biryani then it wrecks your meal. Just felt like sharing.

It does not wreck the meal, it just offers a minor inconvenience, and even then, that's only when you bite into it. If you just roll it around a bit then spit it out it actually gives the bite a pleasant flavor.

Cardamon defender, over and out! *salutes a pile of cardamon*

I agree with ya aussiemu! I count how many I have put in and then fish them out at the end if I can (they tend to rise to the top-sorta)

My DH said there was a thing they use in restaraunts sorta like the strainer you would use for tea but for things like cardamon pods in cooking but I never found it anywhere..

yeah you can use one of them or you can also use like little bit of cheesecloth or something similiar to put whole spices in and tie that up and chuck that in.

See I did that before... I remember the day well. It was around two weeks ago, the date was april 18, 2010. There was nine of them, I counted them before putting them in. Then afterwards........ I pulled them out. It was terrible, I felt awful. It was a meat dish, fried chunks of beef heavily spiced with onions and coriander powder, to be eaten with bread. Beef suqar they sometimes call it. Well anyway, I left them out, the little cardamons, and they just sat there. Soon they got all shriveled up, it was just terrible, like little green mummies. The worse part was the nightmares afterwards... the guilt.
