My dear sister-in-Islam Iman has informed me of this amazing opportunity, to help build a mosque in the Philippines, and has invited me to help raise funds for it. The Islamic society needs approximately $40,000 to complete the building of a mosque on land that the local Islamic society spent 18 years saving for in the Philippines.

Sisters and brothers, when it comes to causes that will deliver sadaqa jaariya for decades after you pass away, nothing comes close to the rewards of having people pray and learn Quraan in a mosque you helped build.

So, who wants to roll up their sleeves for Jannah? We've proven time and time again that as a community we are a massive force for good, and inshallah I hope we can rally to help our brothers and sisters in the Philippines.

Sis Aussiemu, maybe we can receive donations in the aussiemuslims donation account?

If anyone needs any further details please contact sister Iman or brother Ismail on the numbers below.

Assalamu Alaikum wr wb Brothers and Sisters,

Do you want to receive great rewards from Allah swt?

Do you want to contribute and assist in the building of a masjid?

There is a masjid situated in the province of Palawan in the Philippines. There is a very active group of Muslims who managed to purchase a block of land to build a masjid. They have already applied for the building permit for a small Masjid and school facility. However, it has taken them 18 years to reach to this to stage and are in need of your help.

Currently they are utilising a small hut/room on the same land with very basic facilities. There is no electricity, no clean water to even make wudu. There is another room where they are utilising it to teach children Quran and Arabic.

We personally had the opportunity to meet these humble Muslim people on our holiday to the Philippines and viewed the land, the current masjid and the permit plans.

The Muslim community here are the minority and enduring financial hardships. However, due to their commitment and dedication they have managed to purchase the land after 18 years.

The total project to build the Masjid and other facilities will cost $40,000 Australian dollars.

    Some Background Information:

    · Philippines' population is predominately Roman Catholic, with only 5% of the total population being Muslim.

    · The Island of Coron is situated in North in the Province of Palawan, Philippines.

    What Can You Do?

    · Have a look at the pictures attached!

    · We need our dear brothers and sisters to dig deep for this great cause as the Prophet (S.A.W.) in a hadith reported by Imam Bukhari and Imam Muslim states, "Whosoever builds for Allah a masjid, Allah will reward him similar to it in paradise."

    · Any financial assistance will be highly appreciated. This will change the current situation of our brothers, sisters and the future of their children.

For more information please respond to the following emails:
    ecostar@live.com.au or imanhafza@hotmail.com

Furthermore you could contact by phone:

    Ismail Mourad on 0404 015 015 or Iman Hafza on 0412 476 140.

Please forward to your family, friends and contacts.

I believe we Australian Muslims are in a good position to assist, even a small amount will make difference.

    Jazakallah Khayran

The proposed plan, the permit to build, the current facilities (wudu area, mosque, school room):

The Muslims of Palawan are in great need, they are cut off from most of the foreign donations that get into the Philippines. I remember praying Eid in a masjid that was still uncompleted after many years of construction and was in so much need of support.
The Imam of the masjid lived in a house made out of bamboo :O

The average wage in Palawan would be about $5 a day of what we earn.. The Muslims there will benefit greatly from any donations and our dollars go so much further there than anywhere else.

MashaAllah the sister and brother who have started this campaign did so after visiting the Philippines for a holiday recently, and they are the ones who took the photos, spoke to the Iman, were given a tour of the facility, and took time to ask them what they needed. As you said, a small amount of money goes a long way over there.

MashaaÁllaah didn't know there are Muslims in the Island of Coron. Palawan is my second home here in the Philippines. I'd love to go visit Coron when I go back to Palawan inshaaÁLlaah.

May Allaah reward you sonsonator and the brother and sister who thought of this initiative.

When can we start donating for this cause to the AM bank account?

I think they normally leave a few days in between donation drives so that they don't mix up the funds donated.
