ALRIGHT so I'm on my laptop atm guess where?
Ooooon the TRAINNNN choo choo!
So the tethering thing works, it's just a bit slow (well pretty slow actually, Virgin internet for ya), took a while to load AM but alhamdulillah here we are
technology is so cool
I might get an Elite modem thing from Telstra anyway, see how it goes inshaAllah with the tethering.

I had to hold my phone in the air for my above post to go through

Good to hear.
Just a note... when I travel on the train at nights (upfield line), even I'm a little hesitant to show just my iphone for fear of getting jumped.
Maybe I'm paranoid... but a sister on a train at night with a laptop and waving around a smartphone... hmmm. Just something to keep in mind."Indeed gentleness does not enter into anything except it beautifies it, nor is it removed from anything except that it disfigures it." - Prophet Mohammad (peace be upon him) [Muslim 12/212]

the Pakenham line is always packed, and probably one of the safest lines I've travelled on, I travelled on the Upfield line yesterday and it was....odd.....wouldn't take my phone/laptop out there either.
Plus I always make dua for protection
and you're talking to someone whose phones got robbed while she was peacefully sleepin at the masjid at uni! so nobody's safe!
thanks for your concern though, you're not paranoid, just cautious
probably better to be cautious actually...Whoever remembers death often will find a small amount (of worldly things) sufficient for him; and whoever includes his speech in his deeds will speak little.

Vodafone has something called Pocket Wifi, it is alot faster than usb sticks, and you can hook up up five laptops on it. I use it and it is five times faster than my adsl2 that I used to have with TPG before.
You can get it free on a 24 months term along with 12 Gigs every months for $39.

Well the house is 3.7ks from the exchange. When I tested the speed, it was arond 1500kpbs with Exetel. When I was with TPG, it was even worse at around 900 kpbs. With the vodafone Pocket Wifi I get around 5500 kpbs.

Also take into consideration that if you use for 3 hours a week, get a low usage, because the telstra one runs out in a month from activation, this happened to my uncle and he said he wanted to smash his computer
