You sound almost as cocky as me. Makes me like you even more.

    ^ LOL @ Fatoum!

I think it's silly stopping sisters with babies from attending. They already feel left out due to not being able to attend classes and lectures most of the time. Maybe we should make these brothers who make these decisions stay at home with the kids and babysit them for a night.

Oh, wait. Time to snap out of this daydream of mine.

Najah: Come! If anyone tells you off, tell them Ahmad said you could go, and if they still have a problem with it, come see me or AMQ. We'll sneak you and lil' Musa in

TP: As for you, I can't sneak you in But would love to see you there inshaa'Allaah

I think there is a problem when the kids aren't kept quiet. Yeah, yeah I know, they are only children and they can't be kept quiet all the time. I don't think it's fair that I should pay for a ticket and then not be able to listen properly to the speakers/presentations on the night because of all the racket.

I do however agree that it should have been printed on the poster and as a result a lot of this misunderstanding could have been avoided.

The adults make more of a racket than the kids do. True story ya know.

Problem with these gatherings is the sisters usually get the crap seats (like at the back) and then have to put up with the incessant chatter. I think I would prefer to sit in the brother's section but you know how that would go down....

I really want to go because of Omar Regan (brother is really funny) but, dunno...we'll see.

Problem there is you can't beat them with a stick. With the kids however...

Oh but of course I jest.

The women talking make more noise than any baby. At least a baby can be excused for being a baby. Most mothers are going to take their kid outside if they are making a racket. Can we send sisters outside too who make a racket?

I've spoken to the organisers... Here is the response.

    --start quote--

    1. IISNA apologises about the lack of clarity regarding children under 12 not being able to attend.

    2. Provided that children are sitting with their parents (e.g. in prams or on their lap etc), they are allowed. If they occupy a seat, they have to pay for it, or else, there is no charge.

    --end quote--

As aussiemu stated, parents will be expected to take their kid outside if they are making a racket until they settle down. Common sense rules apply.

Also please keep in mind the duration and evening time slot of this event when considering whether it would be appropriate to bring your children (e.g. will they get restless, sleepy etc).

Note that there will be a wrestling demonstration (Abu Hafsa is a former wrestler), a possible appearance from Bachar Houli, and some comedy by Omar Reagan which should keep them entertained.
