Asalamu ‘Alaykuum,
First ever “Poetic Haqq” video! “Accept my leave” – watch it now!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b8BRSabJtuY
Text version:
Accept my leave
By Abu Khattab
I took her hands and I put them in mine,
As I paused from saying what I was going to do.
She knew that my life would eventually end,
But did she know when? Not even a clue.
The ring remained on the finger of hers,
To her, a testament to the promise I made.
I looked in her eyes and reassured her heart,
That on the Day of Judgement we will get paid.
Her tears began to roll down her cheeks,
Heartache spread but it was for the best.
The rose splitting from the soil beneath,
As finally, my dream, I would put to rest.
She knew who she married when she accepted the conditions,
A man whose aims were evident in his kunya.
A life in tatters that was sewed back with battle,
Awaiting his release from the shackles of this dunya.
I stroked her hands with the tips of my thumbs,
A gentle smile took up my face.
A kiss I gave her on the surface of her hand,
As I told her that finally I had found my place.
I bid her farewell for the final time,
As I closed the door behind my leave.
I looked at my hand and I saw her tears,
As I heard her crying and her quiet heave.
I walked the path towards my dream,
My footsteps fading against the snow.
Finally now I could meet my Lord,
When finally my blood would begin to flow.
I left her – yes – but I’ll see her again,
By the Will of my Lord it will be in the garden.
The gift of martyrdom is more dear to me,
For her sins I can ask my Lord to pardon.
So I face my enemy and I take up arms,
Awaiting the bullet to strike my heart.
The time is ticking as I await my prize,
Where me and my rose wouldn’t be apart.
What more could I say as I await that time?
A sweetness is near and I can smell the scent.
To face my Lord in an honourable fashion,
And say “my Lord for you my life I have spent.”

Allah'u akbar, mashaAllah very well put brother. I love how you used that nasheed in the background. One of my favourite nasheeds. May Allah give victory to the mujahideen subhanAllah and re-unite them in Al-Firdaws with their loved ones, probably a handful of the true mu'meens on the surface of this earth these days.
JazakAllahu khayr, words don't do justice to the feeling one feels inside when reading, learning and watching those that fight in the cause of Allah.Whatever written of Truth and benefit is only due to Allah’s Assistance and Guidance, and whatever of error is of me alone. Allah Alone Knows Best and He is the Only Source of Strength.

Jazaki Allahu Kheir, that anasheed is in my top 3 nasheeds, sums up everything.. I had to use it because it's moral of patience and acceptance matched with the actual poem.
Wa Ameen thumb Ameen, by Allah, this Ummah does not truly understand what these men have given up and what their wives (IF they are married because these days no one likes to be with them due to their path - ie hardship) give up too. And definitely. Ghuraba fil ghuraba (strangers within strangers even between the people who are within the manhaj of Ahlus Sunnah unfortunately)..
Wa iyaki, words are only words unfortunately, but indeed a time is coming inshallah...

"The Green Bird" VIDEO VERSION: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TxA0CXRHWJQ

The Green Bird
By Abu Khattab
A taste so sweet I cannot bare to resist it,
A smell so great I cannot help but inhale.
A feeling so soft; such a marvellous texture,
A bright light shines as again I exhale.
Silence swarms me even though there's chaos,
Such a violent picture yet such subtle emotions.
Red liquid pouring but I can't feel the pain,
This is when I realise that I made the right devotions.
Green birds floating in the sky above,
I fall in and out of slumber but I'm not asleep.
Laughter whispering in my ears as I rest,
As I see some women floating down to me.
"We've been waiting for this moment for a long time,"
What are they talking about? Have they lost their minds?
"O man that was denied his Queen in the world,
Take us instead for we come in all kinds."
One strokes my beard with her soft glowing fingers,
She raises my head and gives me a kiss.
I begin to realise that these are my maidens,
Sent down from Him for my eternal bliss.
Struggling to breathe I still manage a smile,
As I see more light coming down to surround me.
Everything still silent as something penetrates my heart,
I begin to shake as I see more bleeding.
I sense some people running down towards me,
Their voices blurred by the sweet sound of my maidens.
I see them now standing on top of my body,
Crying and shocked as my sight slowly darkens.
Breathing ceases but my smile remains,
Eyes locked onto the sky above me.
I feel a slither coming out from my body,
Indeed a nice feeling but now I no longer see.
I'm but a soul now travelling high in the sky,
Away from this world and past the stars.
I'm now on my way to meet my Lord,
My heart at ease; no longer baring scars.
A life of hardship comes to a beautiful end,
All those against me no longer matter to me.
A place among my brothers is what I've earned,
In a place of bliss, a place no eye could see.
My mother, my rose, my only true love,
I wish I can be there to wipe away your tears.
But your sadness wastes you as I am still alive,
Alive with my Lord where I have no fears.
Be happy for me for one day we'll meet again,
Where I shall come running to kiss your hand once more.
I'll show you the status that I've achieved with the All-Mighty,
So cheer up my mother, my inspiring mentor.
Such a time I had in a world of torment,
Facing stares and humiliation and denied my right.
One thing kept me patient and that is what I am now,
A Green Bird of Paradise venturing into flight.

Note: the following is fiction and merely a reminder.
I remind you
O one who slumbers away from his kin,
And feels as if there is no one to*love.
Your place of dwelling is common for believers,
Imprisoned within walls like a cage with a dove.
O one who resides without seeing his son,
Prosper from a boy and into a man.
Lend me your ears and lend me your eyes,
And lend me your heart for a momentary span.
I remember the words that you used to say,
About persevering when one would fall.
By Allah why do you say and you do not do?
Why don't you remain like the time you stood tall?
Would the sadness that swallows you give you hope,
In a Lord Who is Just and a Lord Who is kind?
Would the sadness that swallows you keep you guided,
On a path unoccupied by those who are blind?
Would your tears that fall unlock your chamber,
And relinquish the claw that has grasped your heart?
Would the tears that fall re-honour your status,
As a man whose heart and desire were apart?
Would the sadness that swallows you give you hope,
In a Lord Who is Just and a Lord Who is kind?
Would the sadness that swallows you keep you guided,
On a path unoccupied by those who are blind?
Where have the times of your melodies gone?
Singing of martyrdom and how to cope.
Where have the rhymes of your poetry gone?
As they inspired the fighters and inspired their hope.
Don't you remember the likes of the companions,
Who shed their blood to honour Tawheed?
Don't you remember the likes of Ja'far,
Who strove in His way in the ultimate deed?
For do not forget that you are not alone,
And others have passed who faced the same.
And do not forget the verse of your Lord,
When hardship hit then ease soon came.
And even if your away from happiness,
Of being among your family and friends.
Do not cease in your path of striving,
For indeed your loneliness is a veiled cleanse.
Know that your Lord has tested before,
In times of strife and in times of demise.
For indeed He tests those Who He truly loves,
It is a mercy in a different disguise.
So perfect your supplication and perfect your prayer,
And stand in the night and call upon your Lord.
Increase in remembrance and increase in patience,
For the call of the oppressed is surely not flawed.
Humiliation may have besieged your soul,
But continue to hope and you'll be crowned on the Day.
In front of a Lord Who has selected a few,
To hope for martyrdom when in the night they'd pray.
So do not forget the speech you gave,
And do not forget the melodies you sung.
And do not forget the verses you recited,
In a time when the strangers continue to be hung.
A garden awaits full of fruits and maidens,
And those before will be waiting for you.
A pair of wings will be attached to your body,
For you to fly among a few.
Rivers of milk and rivers of honey,
Stream beneath your palace of gold.
Trees with shades that would last for years,
And light in the gardens that fails to fold.
So do not lose hope in a Lord full of Mercy,
And seek His refuge when your blood is shed.
Hold high the banner that you once had waved,
And on the path of the Sunnah - continue to tread.
So do not lose hope in a Lord full of Mercy,
And seek His refuge when your blood is shed.
Hold high the banner that you once had waved,
And on the path of the Sunnah - continue to tread.
Do not be fazed by the beatings and torture,
I say again - you are not the first.
Do not cringe when they make you starve,
Because in the Fire they'll be suffering thirst.
My brother do not think that I've forgotten you,
And I await the hug you have promised me.
It may not be in the dwellings of the world,
But eventually it is you that again I'll see.
I shall smile like a mother gazing upon her child,
As I gaze upon my brother who was temporarily away.
And I shall fly beside you when the time is right,
When our souls through the sky will begin to sway.
Towards a Lord Who has brought us together,
In His Kingdom of beauty and Kingdom of bliss.
Where I shall visit you while you reside with joy,
Until my maiden informs me she longs for a kiss.
And together we'll fly to the river of Kowthar,
And meet the man who owns its banks.
Peace be upon him, Muhammad he is,
For my Lord is the praise and all the thanks!
And together we'll fly to the river of Kowthar,
And meet the man who owns its banks.
Peace be upon him, Muhammad he is,
For my Lord is the praise and all the thanks!
Your son would like me to speak about you,
So allow me to tell him about a man of strength.
Strength in certainty in what His Lord has decreed,
With patience that extends to the longest lengths.
Your wife still longs for the days of joy,
When you'd walk together forgetting this life.
She washes the clothes that reside in your cupboard,
In hope you'll return to cease her strife.
Your mother still calls upon her Lord,
To see you before she passes from here.
As a man whose established like roots in the earth,
Against oppression without any fear.
And I still hope that I may get that hug,
That you have promised to give me one day.
Either in this world or in the gardens,
It is that hug that I wish you to pay.
So I end my speech with a few simple words,
And I hope you have lent me your heavy heart.
The honour is within the struggle we face,
Because happiness and struggle are never apart...
