wa alaikum assalam
insha'Allah once you are here the brothers can meet with you. It will be good for you to live near the Muslim community when you move here and be near a mosque or islamic center as that will help you to get to meet more brothers.Al-Hasan al-Basri said of hypocrisy: No one fears it but a believer, and no one feels safe from it but a hypocrite.

Jazakhallah Khair, thanks for the input and i have thought of the same. I am scouting for many suburbs close to CBD with Masjids. Some of the areas i am doing research are Brunswick, Prestor where there is mosques. Would appreciate if you could guide me more suburbs where i can be near to masjid. Appreciate if you could advise on the cost for renting a unit / house in those areas.

assalamu alaikum
Roxburgh Park / Meadow Heights - Meadow Heights mosque + HIYC (Hume Islamic Youth Center) are nearby
Fawkner - Fawkner mosque
Coburg - Coburg mosque / IISNA - Islamic center
Brunswick - IISCA (ASWJ) Islamic Center
Preston - Preston mosque
Heidelberg - Heidelberg mosque
Roxburgh Park / Meadow Heights are further out (though there is public transport) so they tend to be cheaper than those closer to the city.
Also close to that area are Broadmeadows etc - if you look on www.realestate.com.au and click 'surrounding suburbs' you can also get other suburbs nearby. Greenvale has very nice houses but is further out and much more expensive. Most of these places have train stations nearby so a lot of people take the train into the city for work.Al-Hasan al-Basri said of hypocrisy: No one fears it but a believer, and no one feels safe from it but a hypocrite.

There is also a lovely Muslim community and a mosque in Meadow Heights + Roxburgh Park along with Muslim owned businesses so that is also an option.
O you who believe! Stand out firmly for Allâh as just witnesses and let not the enmity and hatred of others make you avoid justice. Be just: that is nearer to piety, and fear Allâh. Verily, Allâh is Well-Acquainted with what you do. (Al-Mā'idah: 8)

before you decide on moving i advise you to pray istikharah and try to visit before being certain, australia is full of disbelief and people of desire and evil, and really should be experienced before such decisions.
