Their downstairs from my house, the food is very nice MashAllah and the quantity is a lot too.
You get a free rice if you take away
The pricey side is the Gulum Jumum, it's 2.25 for 1 gulum jamum but they give you two when you order so you'll pay 4.50 which is a bit pricey in my opinion

lol she does and I have no idea how she makes it but if you want i'll get a recipe from her next time. no idea who she learnt it off.
I don't recommend making it for anything except a dinner party. You'll end up a balloon if you cooked it on a normal day. They are full of fat and sugar. That's probably why they taste good though.Al-Hasan al-Basri said of hypocrisy: No one fears it but a believer, and no one feels safe from it but a hypocrite.

That sounds dooable for sure sis.. specially on a Wednesday or a Monday as I don't work all day on those days.. so you name the day insha'Allah and that is perfect for me insha'Allah.. cos then I can have a lunchinner before I work insha'Allah

If you can make a Saturday though.. I don't work in the evening.. though I do on Sunday .. so we can certainly do it on a SSaturday insha'Allah.. pm me and let's plan it insha'Allah

My SIL makes good gulab jamun that she learnt from her MIL. They are so YUM and super easy to make, I've tried it a few times. Here's the recipe for those who want to give it a go:
Gulab Jamun
Ingredients
Dumplings
- 2 cups Milk Powder
- 1 cup Self-raising flour
- 300 ml Thickened Cream
- 1 teaspoon Semolina
- Oil (for deep frying)
Syrup
- 2.5 cups Sugar
- 3.5 cups Water
- A few drops Rosewater (optional)
Method
Make syrup in a large saucepan (just boil the sugar and water together for 5 minutes), add rose water. Sift the milk powder, self-raising flour, and semolina into a mixing bowl. Mix together with thickened cream to make soft dough (you may not need all the thickened cream). From the dough, make small balls and fry in oil until deep dark brown. Place them in the syrup after frying.
Tips
- Brown the dumplings a LOT! Until they look nearly burnt. Keep stirring them constantly while frying to help them retain a perfect round shape, and make sure to have the temp just right so that they cook from inside properly.
- Don't get fooled by the fact that the syrup is thin and colourless. Once the dumplings are in them they absorb all the water leaving a thick syrup behind and they turn the syrup brown.
- Put all the dumplings into the syrup in one go, otherwise the first batch will look bloated and the others will miss out on the syrup.
- The dumplings should be only about 1.5-2cms in diameter, they swell when they are frying, and they swell more in the syrup."When you perceive hardness in your heart, weakness in your body, and paucity in your sustenance - then know that you have spoken about that which does not concern you!" - Malik Bin Dinar

Best to eat this with an empty stomach so it won't be an overkill. I only want 2 pieces. How many does the above recipe make ?
