O you who believe! Stand out firmly for Allâh as just witnesses and let not the enmity and hatred of others make you avoid justice. Be just: that is nearer to piety, and fear Allâh. Verily, Allâh is Well-Acquainted with what you do. (Al-Mā'idah: 8)

He has a directions hearing tomorrow at the Supreme Court; might go. During the trial, the bow and arrow etc. will most likely be showcased.
Bow and arrow murder accused to face trial
An East Gippsland man accused of murdering another man with a hunting bow and arrow has been committed to stand trial.
Guy Newman, 35, of Club Terrace, in south-east Victoria, is charged with murdering Trent Ashley McNamara last May.
During a three-day committal hearing, the Bairnsdale Magistrates Court heard Mr McNamara was fatally shot with a hunting arrow in the lounge room of a Bairnsdale home.
The court heard Newman suspected Mr McNamara might have stolen equipment from a storage container belonging to the accused.
The woman who lived at the house where Mr McNamara was killed told the court Newman showed her Mr McNamara's body, then offered her money to take a holiday.
The magistrate ruled there was enough evidence to send the case to trial.
Newman pleaded not guilty.
The Supreme Court will begin hearing the case in a fortnight.O you who believe! Stand out firmly for Allâh as just witnesses and let not the enmity and hatred of others make you avoid justice. There is a indoor shooting range on Northgate Drive Thomastown. Last time I went was a few years ago but from memory was $30 per 20 mins plus small fee for temp license.

I had another training session this morning with my friend and although the weather was rainy, the rain held off for the most part.
I qualified from 40m to shoot 50m so I'm very happy about that. My groupings were half-decent but it's all about continuous improvement. Below is my best grouping from a total of 30 arrows at 40m:
10, 10, 10, 10, 9, 9, 9.

This is what 50m looks like from my shooting point; just picture 50m on a footy oval:

Moving up from 40m to 50m proved to be a big step as a tiny movement magnifies in error due to the longer distance. Also, the target gets smaller and smaller so you really need to have a steady arm/body. It started raining when I started shooting at the 50m target so we called it a day, but interestingly, 1 of my arrows almost pierced the target (the material is very dense) clean; from 50m on about 60lbs:

Here is a video of my shooting from a few months back. This was while I was adjusting my new sight so there is some room for improvement but I'm getting better alhamdulillah. This was from 30m if I recall correctly. I average around 9 seconds between shots which is pretty decent - would've been quicker if I used a quiver. I'll upload some 40 and 50 metre + shots once I record them.

As salamu alaykum br At-Ta'if,
Would you happen to know the youngest age they accept where you are going?
Or if possible, could you ask next time you go please?
JazakAllahu khair.

Wa alaykum as-salam wa rahmatullah,
As far as I'm aware there is no age limit. I've seen little children regularly shoot with their parents with their small children's bows.
I'll ask anyway for certainty and report back inshaAllah.
It's a great family activity.O you who believe! Stand out firmly for Allâh as just witnesses and let not the enmity and hatred of others make you avoid justice. Be just: that is nearer to piety, and fear Allâh. Verily, Allâh is Well-Acquainted with what you do. (Al-Mā'idah: 8)

Inshaallah that answers the question.Hi *****
The youngest age group in Archery Victoria is Joey (10 and Under). Having said that, it depends on the individual circumstances. The best way of finding out is to have the child attend a come-n-try session and the instructors will be able to assess whether the child is ready to join. There is no casual shooting available at the club, by the way. It's members only plus visitors who are affiliated with AA, 3DAAA or ABA and who must be signed in by a DVA adult member. Juniors are expected to be supervised by a responsible adult.
Cheers

I recommend attending a Saturday morning session for new-comers and go from there.O you who believe!
