So apparently 120 people got killed today in Syria..
from facebook: Syrian Uprising 2011 Information Centre
Summary (19/12/2011): Today was one of the bloodiest days of the uprising yet, with at least 120 Syrians killed (more than 40 civilians and 70 defected soldiers). With all this killing, not to mention the destruction through shelling, the arrests and the torture, and the hardship through displacement and shortages of food, fuel and medicine. And still FM Muallem can talk about wanting to "build a safe, modern Syria"... "a model democracy" while signing the so called Arab Leage peace proposal today. No comment.

Don't worry its not all once sided, defector soldiers turned renegade have fronted the organized armed resistance against the military..
Most recently 6 government forces died from 13 hours ago
Syria’s repression of protests has led to defections from the army and an escalation of clashes in which both sides are armed. Assad has blamed the unrest on foreign provocateurs
"Three armored vehicles were destroyed, and those inside were killed and wounded,"
The attack in the southern governorate of Daraa, where the nine-month uprising against Assad began, came after eight Syrian soldiers died in an ambush by deserters near Hama.
Heavy gunbattles were also reported Sunday in several villages in the restive Jabal al-Zawiya region in the northern Idlib province near the Turkish border, where many defectors are believed to be operating. How canst thou say to thy brother,Brother, let me pull out the mote that is in thine eye, when thou thyself beholdest not the beam that is in thine own eye? Thou hypocrite, cast out first the beam out of thine own eye, and then shalt thou see clearly to pull out the mote that is in thy brother's eye.

Summary (26/12/2011): At least 45 martyrs are known to have fallen today - mostly in the central city of Homs where many neighbourhoods have been under intense shelling and gunfire that has led to dozens of casualties. Meanwhile 50 Arab League observers have safely arrived in Syria to measure the regime's compliance with their peace proposals - I think we could have saved them the trip....what compliance?

reported statistics estimate that at least 5000 Syrians dead, and 2000 military and government forces dead since the coming months.
large amounts of weapons that cant be estimated are in fact being smuggled through turkey's south west border
the opposition soldiers fighting are said to be highly trained with explosives, sophisticated weapons they have been using such as sniper rifles, rpg's, mounted heavy machine guns, remote detonate explosives,...How canst thou say to thy brother,Brother, let me pull out the mote that is in thine eye, when thou thyself beholdest not the beam that is in thine own eye? Dec. 28 - Footage posted to a social media website purportedly shows armed members of the Free Syrian Army targeting a government convoy in Deraa as Arab League monitors enter a flashpoint area in the city of Homs. Atleast 4 government forces were killed in the ambush. Rough Cut (no reporter narration) Reuters video.

La hawla wala quwata illah billah
The situation in Syria has come to a climax in the last few weeks with political and military defections, persistent protests and an increasingly brutal crackdown by the regime on those seeking change. Over 10000 Muslims have now been killed by the Syrian regime of Bashar al-Assad, and many more have been injured and displaced. Nevertheless, the uprising which started in January 2010 and took off from Deraa has now persisted for almost a year and spread to all cities in Syria – a testament the courage of the Muslims of Syria.
Join us in this community protest, organised in collaboration with many leaders and organisations of the Muslim community, as a means for the community to stand together in support for our brothers and sisters in Syria and to send a strong message of support for them and against the brutality and oppression of the Syrian regime.

Six tanks and helicopter destroyed in Idlib
March 10, 2012 ⋅ 11:05 pm
Free Syrian Army (FSA) commander Colonel Riad al-Assaad told Al-Jazeera television station on Saturday that the Syrian rebels on Saturday “shot down a helicopter [belonging to the Syrian army] and destroyed six tanks [in the city of] Edleb – where a number of soldiers defected [from the state army] along with two tanks.”
He added that before the UN and Arab League special envoy to Syria, Kofi Annan, “presents any solution” for the Syrian situation, he needs to make efforts “in order to halt the killing of the Syrian people.”
