Poet: Congratulations and may Allah always keep you happy.

I think that people opt for the stricter opinion just so they can be in the safe side if you know what I mean. I do it myself at times, but I think what we really need is good islamic teachers guiding us/teaching us properly.

O people who take pleasure in a life that will vanish, falling in love with a faded shadow is sheer stupidity!

    Can go both ways.

A lot of "born Muslims" follow the deviant watered-down versions of Islam taught to them by their parents.
Singapore: oppresses Muslims, bans athaan, bans hijab in schools, prevents building of madrassahs or muslim schools, puts limit on the percentage of Muslims allowed in each apartment building, and bans Muslims from joining Singapore's elite military forces. Singapore; Israel's best buddy!

I would like to speak on behalf of those reverts who took a strict angle and still many years later still hope to be able to cut a deserving someones head off in the same way the sahaabah did.

    thank you

Exactly and well said. Only yesterday was I listening to a lecture where the speaker was saying that knowledge is to give concession with knowledge. He said anyone can always give fatwas on the "avoid it" side on issues, but the real work is in giving the fatwa that is suitable for exactly that situation. Because always going with the stricter opinion will make one tired, he will read the verse "wa maa ja`ala `alaykum fid-deeni min haraj" (He has not placed upon you in the religion any difficulty), and he will think, man, all I see is difficulty. But at the same time always taking the lax opinions will make one a sinner, so the skill is to give the fatwa that fits exactly the situation.
