Alhamdulillaah yesterday I had a surgical procedure done to remove 2 moles on my chsst which my dermatogists where a bit suspicious of. They don't believe it's cancerous but just a pre-caution. My highlight is that the pain has significantly decreased alhamdulillaah cause as br from water would say.. "Daaaaangggg, it hurt" lol

So it's been more than 17 hours, but nonetheless, the long awaited highlight has become a reality. I won the battle - the assignment submitted

Remember that highlight I posted in post #420? Well it turns out I grossly underestimated the task that lay ahead of me.

After days of psychological torture, blood and sweat (yes blood, I suffered a paper cut) my mind has all but melted. There were times where I repeatedly found myself in unergonomic positions, pondering, procrastinating, staring at the ceiling, wanting to scream, but unable to.

I thought I had avoided maths, but no, contracts is maths without numbers. Solving a case is akin to solving a rubix cube.

Those sleepless coffee-induced nights are over (temporarily of course), and I can actually sleep now, you know, put my head on the pillow, close my eyes, and not dream about disputing parties.

I'm fatigued so I probably don't make sense right now; please excuse me while I help myself to a hot chocolate and smile into the distance.

I have exams and assignments due on thursday and tomorrow is the ONLY day i have to prep. Insha Allah going to shut off phone and work emails and gonna try to make it through!

That's hilarious because I was reading that post and thinking, man, that sounds terrible, kind of like what I go through sometimes.

Only since I'm computer science, I program stuff and don't have to deal with as much paper so... I'm safe from paper cuts (whew). Good thing it's over At-Ta'if, yeah that's the best feeling. Turn in that assignment, relaxation.

Also Khaled, salamtak, good thing it's over. Surgery is the worst, I'd have probably said more than what you mentioned, but the dang would have been there for sure >__>

Feels good indeed, but the feeling is always short-lived. I have another assignment due Friday and 2 more thereafter.

InshaAllah you are able to complete your assignment on time and prepare for your exams adequately.

Tell me about it... I had two huge assignments I'd been working on for ages (albeit procrastinating more than I should have been) and the deadline was fast approaching so I spent the last few days pretty much coding non-stop. I set up a temporary 'office' in the sitting room by moving in a large table and setting up both my laptops (plus some papers and a pen for the tedious maths needed for the OpenGL subject) and would wake up in the morning, fill up a jug of water, set it on the table and sit down and code pretty much all day and into the night...

I remember on the night before the assignments were due (stupid assignment dates matching up...) I was up and freaking out because I still had so much left to do. Anyway, with the first assignment (which was VB.Net and WPF, I think), I was forced to leave the last section undone because I still had my other assignment to do (which meant my max mark was a HD - 80%). Then I got to work on the next assignment and submitted it a little after 7am.

Then I slept and slept and slept... And everything was good in the world again. Especially since those were the last assignments in my course before graduating.

Yeah painful stuff. I was actually doing an opengl class this semester but I'm dropping it tomorrow insha Allah. The networking class I'm doing is killing me with the group project, and I'm in another class that requires a group project as well. Plus two others, but those aren't too bad.

Too much programming in C. I like C, I think it's a neat hackish language, but you have to sit down to learn this stuff, too much to keep track of. Insha Allah none of this will delay my graduation though since I was already doing more than strictly needed for this semester.

I hear you about procrastination though, I really need to cut that out myself v_v, starting to bug me quite a bit, I sometimes feel like kicking myself. And it's not easy to kick yourself, I'm not that flexible even with that ridiculous splits machine I bought.

Edit: If I had that portal gun from Portal I'd be able to do it easily.

New Date for Submission of Assignment 1

Hi All,

I have decided that the new deadline for handing in the compulsory assignment will be one week later, so Thursday 17 May 2012 at 4pm.

Assignments are to be submitted in physical copy to the Law School office assignment box in Queen Street, and via Turnitin.

I will endeavour to hand back all marked assignments by the following Thursday 24 May 2012, but if not then it will be the following week when I am planning to have a revision session (to be confirmed).

Please let me know if you have any queries.
