Salaam walaikum
I will be going to university in Perth.I haven't arrived there yet.Two days left.
I live in the UAE and by the grace of Allah there are mosques almost everywhere in this place.I know for sure that mosques will be very few in Australia.
Can someone tell me how they manage to pray?
Do you guys have prayer rooms in shopping malls?
How to figure out the direction of the qibla?
These are really important for me.I don't know what I would do without prayers.(they keep me sane xD)

There might be a prayer room in the uni - worth checking out.

Yes, and if there isn't a prayer room as is the case with my uni, you can always find a suitable spot, locate the qibla, and pray.

There is a musallah at all the public universities in Perth. Let me know which university you are attending and I can provide further information in sha Allah.

I attend Curtin University.They have a musallah on campus.Thats not the problem.Its not like I will be on campus 24/7.
Where can I pray while I am outside campus?
And how on Earth can I locate the qibla?

lupilipid: You can find a mosue or you can pray anywhere. The earth is a masjid. People pray at work, schools, on the side of roads, parks, next to their cars etc. Anywhere you want. Keep a small prayer mat if you are worried about getting dirty to pray. If you are out a lot then look at your timings and work out where you could pray closeby that might be suitable.
For the ibla I would recommend getting one of those keyring compass or if you have a smartphone of some sort like android or apple phone then you can download an app to work out the kibla.Al-Hasan al-Basri said of hypocrisy: No one fears it but a believer, and no one feels safe from it but a hypocrite.

Outside campus ? depends on where u are , at a park ?
Get a prayer compass or learn to read / find the Qiblah from the direction of the sun

Don't worry what other people think, just pray and do it. I don't think you can pray on roads but parks you can-just make sure you have a prayer mat, in case the garden is not clean.
Shopping centres don't have prayer places, so what you do is go to the changing rooms and pray there. Find a shop that has no music or is very low so it doesn't interfere with your prayer.
where ever you are, try to locate a place that is distant from others and a place where it is possible to pray. Also, you can use a prayer compass to find out the qibla if you don't know it.Religion is all about moral character; therefore, whoever beats you in character beats you in religion."

Curtin is great for Muslims as there are several thousand Muslim students on campus. Yahya Ibrahim is the university chaplain and the MSA caters for all students during Ramadan. There are many halal outlets in the surrounding areas as well as several other masajid. As already noted, if you have a prayer compass or application on your phone then locating the qiblah is easy. Yes, it is fine to pray anywhere really though obviously you try to go somewhere where it is uieter and you aren't in peoples ways etc. When the uni prayer room was closed once, I just prayed on the grass outside. it was a weekend and not many ppl around though 1 or 2 walked past and probably thought ha? lol. We've prayed everywhere really - parks, zoo, car park lots etc. Just find a cleanish corner somewhere out of people's way and pray. Some people might think it is strange but we see a lot stranger stuff from otehrs in Australia
My dad prayed next to his car on the side of the road in the city (where it is very busy) as he had to wait for me. Just making sure not to block ppl or be an annoyance and you can pray anywhere.
I'm female so I also check the safety of where I am praying if I am alone but males don't really have an issue as much. It is usually handy if you have a car to keep a bottle of water and a prayer mat in the boot so if you need to do wudu you don't need to go looking for water.Al-Hasan al-Basri said of hypocrisy: No one fears it but a believer, and no one feels safe from it but a hypocrite.

If you want to know your qiblah, familiarise yourself with maps. Also bear in mind that the sun rises from the east, sets in the West, and in the middle of the day tends to be in the north (from an Australian perspective anyway). From Perth the Qiblah is in a northeast direction

I just got here.This place is awesome.I like the scenery of this place.Btw are there any halal subway restaurants at perth?I LOVE subway but the branch on campus is not halal.
