assalamu alaikum
Please be advised that whilst we don't mind people posting topics to get help on an issue that is personal, many of the members know each other and/or know the families of the members and our community is small so many times people know the people involved. This means that it is very easy to fall into backbiting or gossip of people.
If you have a genuine issue you wish to get help with, then please write in general terms or make a new ID specifically for the purpose of using for help. Whilst we don't usually allow more than one ID if it is done for anonimity purposes to get help with something without revealing the personal details of your life then that is fine.
It is very important that backbiting be seen as the big sin as it is. Remember that being right or it being the truth IS what backbiting is.
“neither backbite one another. Would one of you like to eat the flesh of his dead brother? You would hate it (so hate backbiting). And fear Allaah. Verily, Allaah is the One Who forgives and accepts repentance, Most Merciful”
[al-Hujuraat 49:12]
It was narrated from Abu Hurayrah (may Allaah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allaah SAWS (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “Do you know what gheebah (backbiting) is?” They said, “Allaah and His Messenger know best.” He said, “Saying something about your brother that he dislikes.” It was said, “What if what I say about my brother is true?” He said, “If what you say is true then you have backbitten about him, and if it is not true, then you have slandered him.”
Narrated by Muslim, 2589
I've tried to go easy sometimes because people do genuinely need help with problems but at the same time the obligation of not encouraging backbiting on here is another responsiblity that it has to be weighed against.
If anything personal is posted that is reported as being backbiting / gossip then it will be deleted. You are welcome to make an anonymous ID and ask for help without revealing the names / particulars of the people involved.
I say this even more so for those who have families/children involved as these things on the internet can stay forever and even be used against you in a court. So please be careful with what you are posting for the world to read as well.
jazakallah khair

Al-Hasan al-Basri said of hypocrisy: No one fears it but a believer, and no one feels safe from it but a hypocrite.
