Out of all the videos I have seen since the uprising began.. The following has been the most painful to watch. SubhaanAllaah there are no words for how I'm feeling after watching this..

"...The eyes are filled with tears and the heart is full of grief but we do not say anything except that which is pleasing to our lord.."

Akhi it's not only a test for our brothers and sisters in Syria, it's a test for this entire Ummah and it's leaders. And subhaanAllaah I'm afraid we are failing miserably. May Allaah forgive us and have mercy on us

Brother Khaled, with regard to posting some of these videos, specifically in the presence of women, see what the sheikh (Al Munajjid) has to say:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dgdRqspLkYs#t=67m41s

Just watch this for just 3 minutes after the time it starts.

So wallahu a`lam it is better to withhold.

With those Hezbollah fighters, is there any definitive proof it's from now and from Syria? Just so that I don't hear the "Oh that could be from anywhere or anytime" excuse.

    Assalaamu alaikum akhi,

It says the video cannot be found.

Nevertheless, I believe there is great benefit in watching these videos. For one, my families dua has increased ten fold after seeing them and the duas they make are more passionate and sincere and come straight from the depths of he heart. Also, people need to see the reality of what's happening. They need to be realistic and see what our Muslim brothers and sisters are going through so it can increase their charity, their ibadah, etc. I know the videos are hard to watch, but again I believe things like this will increase the people in good inshaAllaah and bring them closer to their religion.

That's weird, it works for me on both firefox and chrome.

Well anyway, it was basically the sheikh saying that bodies should be covered up and that this stuff should not be shown so freely as it could break people's spirits, especially women. And he brought the incident when Hamza (r. a) was killed on the battlefield of Uhud and mutilated, and how the Prophet when he saw Saffiya approaching him from a distance he called out to his companions saying "the woman the woman!" as in grab her before she sees the sight. And he gave various examples and so on of how they used to be very thorough in covering the bodies. Subhaan Allah how her name was also Safiyya, I only just saw this lecture today after taking a brief look at the videos you posted, and it is from his series about Syria called "nahnu ma3akum" (we are with you).

While they do seem to have the affect you describe on me, it is not without a lot of anguish. In plain english, I was practically weeping on and off all day today, and I was wondering if really looking at these things is beneficial. In any case, if you are female, it is probably best that you do not watch the videos as it does not seem to be in line with the what the Prophet would have preferred wallahu a`lam.

In reality, the ummah is not ma3akum yaa sooriya. The majority of talk is just that, talk. If we were truly with our brothers, even in spirit and not physically, we probably would not be in this situation in the first place. And if we did land in this situation, and we were truly with each other, then we would get out of this situation by the will of Allaah.

My view on the matter is that it is a fitnah of the end times. There are many problems besides just unity. I'm Syrian, and I'll just say that I'm not upset about this because I happen to be from there, but the truth is, the Muslims of today have strayed far, and so we have these rulers above us as a result. From what I used to hear from family members, the neighbor was not safe from the other neighbor, and there is so much corruption. Even amongst my father's siblings, and he has like 9 of them, constant fighting and bickering, and the taking of each other's inheritance (this my father is not a part of al hamdulilah, but that's because he compromised). At the same time though, there is a group in bilad ish sham, whoever and wherever they are, who are probably among the best of people around, going by hadith.

Anyway, there's also so much doubt in the matter, at least for me. There seems to be evidences going both ways, some suggesting all of this was a bad idea and should not have been initiated, others suggesting this is a great thing but at a price. But even those fighting in Syria now, the FSA, it's not clear what their overall goal is after ousting this leader and what will happen. It's not looking very good in all the other countries this happened in. Al Munajjid has a lot of words of encouragement to offer, but others don't speak in the same tone and view the situation differently. As I said before, it makes no difference to me personally because whatever side of that issue you're on, they all agree that help and du`aa' is needed for the people of Syria and the rest of the Muslims of today.

In any case, this slaughter is not going to last forever, but it seems like as time progresses the world situation as a whole is going to continue to deteriorate, possibly up until the dajjal arrives and it will be as bad as it can get, given he's the ultimate fitnah. But Allah knows best. One needs to do their part and be patient.

Edit: I just wanted to add that it's worth noting that when I was watching Al Munajjid's series on this, there are people from Saudi as well as other countries, and I mean doctors and organizers who are both men and women, who traveled to the countries Syrian refugees are going to in order to help them (they even had callers from turkey on the show helping refugees there). Of course Al Munajjid acknowledges that the Arabs have largely abandoned their brethren in Syria, but there are people who are helping and have even opened up schools for the children where they are teaching the Islam and so on.

I'm Syrian also akhi and have family there so I understand what's been happening there for the last few decades. Can you provide a link for the Munajjid talk? The one above isn't working with me

I watched three of them, and I think this is the one that had the volunteers call in:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zFJv5qHw0zE

This one is the fifth in the series, and I only watched this and the two before it. The first one I posted in this topic was the third one, so there is a fourth one after it. Kinda tough to find it on Munajjid's channel since he posts so much videos in so little time. May Allah reward him, from his site IslamQA to lectures and on TV almost everyday, it seems the man never sits down.

This morning in Syria, the following cities have been shelled or mortared -

    Al-Lujat in Daraa via helicopters
Massada and the town of Marqada in Al-Hasakah Governorate
    Al-Mazareeb in Daraa
    Al-Khaledia I'm Homs
    Kefer Zeeta in Hama
    Maare in Aleppo
And some other cities in Homs

Troops are moving out of residential areas, but unfortunately all they are doing is moving around and targeting cities which have yet to be fully targeted as of yet, they are just moving the killing to another town.

In the last week since Annan set the April 10 deadline, over 1000 people have been killed according to Syrian activists and the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights. This morning, already 70 are dead.

I'd like to tell Annan right now what he can do with his peace plan

I went with my mum to buy a vacuum, the guy we spoke to was a Syrian Christian, who looked like he didnt really care what was going on. He told us that the whole thing has been blown out of proportion, and has family in Halba, and nothing is happening there, and that he spoke to his aunt who live s there and she said that they are all fine.

I thought all of Syria was affected?? :/

    He's probably pro-Bashar.

    ^not probably, certainly.

Alot of supporters of bashar al-kalb play down the situation and make people believe everything happening there is blown out of proportion, even the dog himself acts like everything is fine, just watched his interview with Walters. He can run and deceive but the consequence of his action will catch up to him one day and haunt him in his grave.
If you make intense supplication and the timing of the answer is delayed, do not despair of it. His reply to you is gauranteed; but in the way He chooses, not the way you choose, and at the moment He desires, not the moment you desire.
