iPod Screen Repair

Assalaamu Alaykum

My son dropped and smashed his iPod screen. Anyone know a reasonably priced business which can repair this or do i have to go back to the manufacturer?

Sis manufacturer (Apple in this case) will be too expensive. I got my smashed screen replace in the city for approx $100 but I am pretty sure the screen was not an original Apple as you can see very thing lines ( hardly noticeable). The Asian guy who did the job told me he'll only use original part but I am sure this was not the case.

Nonetheless, it is good and I am reasonably satisfied - I guess this is what you get for $100 replacement job. Hang on to your receipt and make sure everything is fine with your son's ipod.

If his ipod is still under warranty it may be worth taking it to Apple to get it fixed and/or replaced. I think they charge $110 to replace the screen. You'll have to make an appointment with their Genius Bar, which can be done online. The closest store is in Doncaster. Alternatively, MSY will do it for $70. Not an original screen, but a cheaper alternative, and it may not go back to being 100%. On top of that, it voids whatever warranty you have left on the ipod.
