    assalamu alaikum

anyone know an electrician (preferably one that isn't going to charge me $100 just to come look at my light). my bedroom light blew (its a light under a fan) and I changed the bulb but it won't turn on.

or if anyone knows why this is happening I would apprciate any ideas.

    Wa alaykum assalam,

Fairly obvious, but have you checked that the replacement bulb is fit properly and not faulty?
O you who believe! Stand out firmly for All‚h as just witnesses and let not the enmity and hatred of others make you avoid justice. Be just: that is nearer to piety, and fear All‚h. Verily, All‚h is Well-Acquainted with what you do. (Al-Mā'idah: 8)

Yes tried a few new lightbulbs and also the lightbulb next door which works fine in the other room (has the same ceiling fan / light combo). But no go here. Very werid.

The problem with the fan/light combo is......

Edited due to giving electrical advice & potentially putting people who think its safe carry out electrical work in danger...

I'd advise against doing it yourself, unless you are an electrician or electrical engineer.

And if you're Lebanese and an electrician, then definitely don't change it...
