have you tried ebay/gumtree? i usually look there every single day if i need something and alhamdulillah majority of my furniture are from gumtree. Pretty good deals.

I would get the desk off eBay personally or gumtree like Iva said. I got DH's desk + bookshelf for $200 - original cost around $2000 in perfect condition. The fact that he scratched it when bring it home is another story :P I know the original cost because my SIL actually has the same desk / bookshelf combo which is why I recognised it in the photo on eBay and they bought it new from the shops.

Just type in ikea desk into ebay or gumtree and see what comes up. that's if you want an ikea one or just type in desk for any desk.

fatima I didn't buy actual shelves at bunnings. I just chose a plank of wood and got them to cut it ot the size I wanted then painted it myself. And bought some shelf brackets. Have you looked @ eBay/gumtree for the shelves too? I buy nearly everything on there lol. I don't really buy stuff in store anymore.

That's only 73cm wide.. pretty small if you ask me.. $25 more and u can get this brand new from ikea and it's 105cm wide with storage.

Glass is cool. I got my glass desk from ikea. Bought the top on its own and matched it with some legs.

Not sure how big the Jonas desk was at Ikea but it had a pull out bit so when you needed extra room on teh side it seemed handy. There are some on eBay new usually for hafl the price at Ikea.

i got a long micke desk from gumtree for less than half price and it was in top condition! I also bargain a lot with the gumtree stuff so try that first before you purhase
