    Needed to vent..
Figured I would make a thread to chuck it all in, for my own future reference and I am the overly-sharing-type-variety of person...
Feel free to do the same here...

I sit here, and I look around me and wonder, do I really think I am making it to Jannah? When Allah s.w.t asks how I spent my wealth, will He really commend me on the fifty dollars I sent to Syria or Africa when not long before I was playing my five hundred dollar ps3, on my HD TV worth much more than that, with my feet propped up on my huge coffee table. Will he say, ‘time well spent in remembrance’ for the thirty ahadith I skimmed and then shared on facebook, barely stopping to think about its authenticity or relevance to my own life.

How can I expect something I make no effort for? We feel so well accomplished when we read an extra surah, go to a class, pray some sunnah prayers or fast Mondays and Thursdays… so accomplished that we talk about it non-stop with whoever will listen “Oh yeah. I was bad but now I wear Abaya, don’t do this and that, cant believe so and so hasn’t ‘woken up yet’ I mean Astagfarallah!”. We make grand gestures of servitude, for whom? We judge, misjudge and go so far as to hate one another about our beliefs and understandings of subjects that we ourselves barely actually implement day to day. We claim to forgive each other and then snicker and ignore or go so far as to outwardly fight with each other.

But most of all, we are numb, there is no denying that we are numb, because if there was feeling in this body, if this body was truly our ummah, we would be screaming in excruciating pain, and yet we are silent, absolutely docile. There is a momentary reflex, as though somebody hit the ‘not so funny’ bone and in a knee jerk reaction we may say something, or do something, it may feel like it was a big deal at the time, we may feel like we are a big deal at the time. But the leg goes down, the pain subsides, the numbness resumes, and again, we are comatose and waiting, resistant to the cure because it can be a difficult treatment, but isn’t that the point? After hardship comes ease? Why does that apply to everybody else in the world except you, except me? Why are we exempt? Our predecessors, those we claim to aspire to be like, imagine how the would have reacted, acted, in this time? Swallow your pride and guilt and truly from your heart picture it, imagine it. I imagine they would be exactly as they were, I believe we have gone too far, become too comfortable, we are making too many excuses, and when will it end? Ya Rabb not at ‘the end’ when it is too late, set us free, set us free, set us free. Make this dunya a means to an end and not ‘the end’ for me.

I reach out and you push me down,
My mistakes are too great to wipe your frown,
To keep you from continually pushing me down,
    Watching me drown, and flailing,
While you scream, you are failing,
And all I really want is to just be,
Me, happy and free to practice what I believe,
    Without your eyes burrowing deep,
    Into my exposed soul,
Lo and behold,The wound is old,
    but you make it new,
    Open mouthed you chew,
and tell me that you didn't do, what you still do,
    what must I do,
    to set myself free...

I bleed, I grieve, you hurt a part of me
The wound grows and blood flows
From my eyes and on my knees, I plead
Because only HE can help me, heal me
Through me, heal them, set them free
So full of fear as those I hold dear
Are tortured and tested and murdered and fester
In gutters alone sprawled on the street
But after hardship comes ease, after hardship comes ease
Ya rabb heal me, we are but one body, Syria bleeds
And I am on my knees, I plead
    After hardship comes ease....

You can't make me have one day
To celebrate my mum in just one way
A shonky breakfast and a bouquet in the month of May
When she should be honoured every day

You can not tell me, just one day, is enough for me
When the prophet put her before my father times three
Put my path to Jannah neath her feet
The most important woman in the world to me

She fed me and cleaned me and hugged me and nurtured me
She protected me and helped me and saved me and made me
She is me, I am for her, she is to me, everything that I want to be..

My "Valentines Message" to you on this stupid day,
Instead of a bunch of roses, make Istighfar
Instead of getting down on one knee, go down into sujood
    Instead of chocolates, give charity
Instead of spending all your effort on perfecting your relationship for just one day, perfect your relationship always, with your spouse, for the sake of your lord, for surely if you please your lord, you are prepared for the most important of days,
    Judgement Day.

Wow sis, mashaAllah! I could really relate to the first one you posted. Exactly how I've been feeling subhanAllah.

I like your brain vomit CVM

ok I just wrote something coz my lil bro is too old for RCH now so he has to go to another hospital and the docs told him and my mum to write a letter. Of course I wrote the letter lollll and included a poem.

    Helping people that are sick,

to my bedside they were quick.

    When I had an emergency

They treated my pain with urgency.

Never making me wait too long,

ensuring that I was healthy and strong.

Caring for me from when I was little,

    God bless Royal Children's Hospital.

    ponderation,

We can not control another persons action, only our 're'action. And the best reaction? No-action, that is not to make no action, but to action 'no'. To enact on saying no to shaytaan, no to gheeba, no to anger and no to pride. Enact P for patience, and enjoy the ride.

It is cold outside, very cold.

We have a roof to put our heads under.

Our brothers and sisters do not.

Thank Allah for these blessings, for He may take them away and bless others who are thankful to Him.

“Therefore remember Me (by praying, glorifying). I will remember you, and be grateful to Me (for My countless Favours on you) and never be ungrateful to Me” [al-Baqarah 2:152]

"Then you will be asked about all the pleasures (you enjoyed in the world)." [At-Takathur: 102:8]

    Just a brotherly reminder insha'Allah ...
O you who believe! Stand out firmly for Allâh as just witnesses and let not the enmity and hatred of others make you avoid justice. Be just: that is nearer to piety, and fear Allâh. Verily, Allâh is Well-Acquainted with what you do. (Al-Mā'idah: 8)

    Ponderation:
I realised something after reading a friends status about people ‘discussing faults’. We are all guilty, and yet, not one of us is faultless. With Ramadan around the corner maybe we should consider, reflect and enact on treating our sisters in Islam, more like, our sisters. Those with sisters know what I mean, you do not always agree, you do not always love everything about them, but you love them regardless, because they are your family, you will protect them regardless of whether or not you agree with them, because they are your family. Our problem, is we do not think of each other as family. But we should. My Ramadan and beyond challenge for myself, is to be too busy in my own deficiencies to notice deficiencies in others. I challenge you to do the same. If I have ever hurt anybody, said anything, done anything intentional or unintentional, I beg your forgiveness, and I love you all for the sake of Allah s.w.t.

    spoken word:

    Stop poking me, Prodding me
    Pointing, and mocking me
You have the audacity to claim you’re more civilised than me
Insult me and hurt me and judge me
    Then you say ‘love me?!’
All this because I obey, the one who gave life to me,
All this because I love, the one who gave rights to me,
Don’t you dare say you’re the land of the free
When I am not free to dress and act as I please
To preach what I believe, to walk down the street
And not be judged for who I choose to appease
    Please.
Land of the free to hate,
    But no freedom to retaliate,
Land of the free to misjudge
But how dare we hold a grudge!
You tell me to go home to the land I belong
When this is the land I was born on
And even if I wanted to move on
My lands are riddled with your bombs!
I am tired, I am emotionally exhausted
    My nights are haunted
With images of the children you helped get slaughtered
And spending the rest of my time being taunted
All because I wont flaunt it, disregard it, be blinded
But I still try, Even when I want to cry, I smile when you walk by
Politely deny every lie that you let fly until all questions are exhausted
Because manners and compassion is what the prophet s.a.w taught us.

We say Alhamdulillah for every luxury we have, if we are good, but do we say Alhamdulillah for the necessities, do you say Alhamdulillah for water to drink, food to eat, but wait even that is a luxury compared to many. Alhamdulillah I have the choice between a car or a bus or a train or a tram or to walk leisurely on a sidewalk. Alhamdulillah for somewhere to go, people to be with, when so many are isolated and alone. Alhamdulillah for my children, even when they are overwhelming, they are a gift, and even their attitude, crying, screaming are all positive reassurances that they are healthy and able, when so many are not. Alhamdulillah for every breath of air, for every fruit bearing tree, for the animals of which we feed, and those we just admire. For the beauty of a sunset, and the ambience of a sun rise. Alhamdulillah for everything that Allah s.w.t chose to test me with for my thanks instead of my patience. Alhamdulillah not for the absence of hardship, but the presence of ease. Alhamdulillah I have the ability to understand, Alhamdulillah for the Quran and the Sunnah, Alhamdulillah for guidance but most of all Alhamdulillah for the Mercy of Allah s.w.t, without which, we would never have a chance to hope or dream per chance to visit and meet the rasoul s.a.w at that glistening stream. Alhamdulillah .
