The Albanian Australian Islamic Society (AAIS) is participating in the Run Melbourne event on Sunday, 15th of July 2012. This will be our 4th year participating in this event and each year we raise funds for a charity in need.

This year, we aim to raise $5,000 for Muslim Aid. The funds raised will go towards the OrphanAid fund. The primary objectives of Muslim Aid’s OrphanAid program are to provide basic necessities for orphans in improving their health, nutrition, and education. Sahl ibn Sa`d reported that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "I and the one who sponsors an orphan will be like this in Paradise,” and he gestured with his index and middle fingers (Al-Bukhari).

You can help us either by either joining the AAIS Run Melbourne team by walking/running on the day, or by sponsoring one of the AAIS participants.

If you wish to join the AAIS team as a participant, you can choose to walk/run 5km, 10km or the half marathon. Parents with prams are welcome in the 5km walk!
