Assalamalykum wr wb... im honored to be able to be part of another container being sent to SYRIA. please brothers and sisters share this and help us fill this container to the people of Syria who have lost everything.

Dry bread is the meal of our families in Syria! What will we answer to Allah when we are asked, what did we do for our ummah?
Please help fill a container within the next week heading to Syria, delivering the basic needs for the meals of Ramadan.

We want you all to help make the process a little easier on us so we r asking for people to assemble and package a box of food which should include
-5kg rice
-4ltr can/bottle of oil
-butter/ghee (samneh)
-flour
-lentils
-tomato paste
-salt
-sugar
-long life cream cheese e.g laughing cow
-long life/powdered milk
-nuts
-dates and
-burghul
-oilves
-tahini
-luncheon meat (martadella) the canned ones.
-tea/coffee
-white beans-dried (fasoulyeh)
-halawa

This should feed a whole family for the month of ramadan and will merely cost about $100.
These items can be purchased at Hassoun grocery store, Bass foods or alfa international (both on somerton rd) or any other Arabic/Turkish grocery store.

If you have any questions please don't hesitate to ask and also if you are unable to purchase goods yourself we have sisters who are willing to purchase the items for you.

We are aiming to have this out by 7th July INSH'ALLAH! Let's make this happen. May Allah bless our community and may the victory be near. Allahuma ameen.

This is an excellent initiative mashallah. May Allah reward the organisers for their tireless efforts mashallah. I was also worried that the container would not arrive in time for Ramadan (most shipping to Lebanon/Syria takes approximately 40 days), but even if it arrives towards the end the food is still much needed. We don't just feed people for Ramadan!

1) Is this container going directly to Syria? It will go to Syrian refugees in neighboring countries?
2) If it is going to Syria, how are you going to achieve that? You can PM me if you'd like.

I was wondering the same as Br Khalid - inshallah the organisers will clarify. I am really sorry but don't know where all these shops are to buy the items. As late as it is before the cutoff date of 7th July, can I please deposit the money into a bank account and the organisers can purchase the items inshallah?

Walaykum sallam.. This is actually not a GMYM project but a preston mosque initiative.. I am only posting on behalf of them and have offered my help in any way i can by being part of the FB management and taking calls etc.

To answer your questions i will answer them to the best of my ability to what i have been told

The container will inshallah be going to the turkish border to provide the food and medical supplies to the people in the camps by an organisation of trustworthy brothers that assures us they have done this before and by my knowledge are close aquantinces of members of preston mosque.

They However are going to try to get food into syria. IF they can. But as we all know this is easier said than done.
Pray that allah opens a door for them to do so.

Islamic relief and many masjids and orgs raised money and sent goods to refugees in leb. Recent stuff in Sydney, not melb. There are a lot of volunteer orgs helping in the country too, but like all the other kaffir govs taking refugees, the leb government do not recognize or assist refugees in any way. Dogs.
