You haven't specified whereabouts you live but assuming you're in the north have you tried IBC? They might be hiring for Ramadan, if you're interested take in your resume and hand it directly to either Firhana or Ahmed. Same goes for any other sisters interested.

She wanted little mixing, and just when I was there once with my husband many brothers came through.

    What exactly constitutes 'mixing'?

Have the scholars defined the term?

Definitely not getting into that debate, but going by wat the sister wants, working in an Islamic bookshop might not be wat she's after.

Well all we can do is offer suggestions (based on what we feel is free mixing etc), she did say she'd still try though. End of the day she's under no obligation to apply.

Alternatively there are a few women's only clothing stores on Sydney road (Fay Tellaoui, for eg).

Exactly. But she mentioned minimal, so at least it's not as much as a place that sells men's clothing too.

I think if it is a Muslim shop though people will have proper etiquette hopefully and you don't have to worry so much about that kind of thing?

I was hoping not for a debate but for a discussion, as I think it's a topic that surfaces quite often that should be addressed at some point in time, if it has not been done previously.

It's not difficult if these position are available, just might big be any vacancies that's all. You have to have skills, experience and/or education for some jobs, sometimes its not as simple as just wanting this kind of work.
