Aussiemu I can't believe you're making all that food! Especially the desserts!

My local seafood place sells prawns for $26 Australian ones, so when the budget allows I buy them.

I really feel like some sweets, like cakes, cupcakes, mousse, biscuits..I am looking forward for my mum's basboosa today. Iftar is simple, just pasta with veges+salad+lamb schnitzels-oh and I've been nagging my mum for some kebe nayeh..I still await..

Alhamdullillah, for the blessings of Allah !!
@Muslim..Princess , if that is what u call simple, Alhamdulillah, that was what we had before for iftar today...well, similar.
I made my first ever lasagne (& I passed with a seal of approval from everyone - except the fussy boys
who refused to eat it coz it was different) . We also had steamed broccoli & asparagus - a family favourite & a vege salad.
LAter, we'll have some trifle thingy from yesterday (sponge biscuits dipped in juice, layered with peach slices & strawberry pudding on top). Yummeh ..
Feel so blessed, Alhamdulillah!'Surely, my prayer and my sacrifice and my life and my death are (all) for Allah, the Lord of the 'Alamin'

It's not that bad really. A day of work really. I enjoy doing it for guests anyways. Haven't done it in agesssssss so am actually looking forward to it. I will be dead the day after though lol so it is good I always end up with leftovers. My mum has it drilled into me that a lot of food is better than not enough food for guests. And I always remember the generosity of Ibrahim alayhis salam where he slaughtered a calf for two strangers that arrived at his doorstep so I see it as a form of honoring the guest. I'm not slaughtering a calf but at least I got some meat!

Pink: Absolutely no idea lol. I remember something about a place called Black Rock. They have a boat so they can go further out. My FIL I think does some pieror rock type fishing because I'm pretty sure he doesn't always take the boat by himself.Al-Hasan al-Basri said of hypocrisy: No one fears it but a believer, and no one feels safe from it but a hypocrite.

Alhamdulillah my iftar went really well. Trifle was quite popular. I went to go buy blueberries for it (you know those tiny little packets). Got to checkout and realised it was $9. So that went straight back. :P And thankfully as I am so tired today there are enough leftovers for iftar tonight
And I skipped the oreo cheesecakes as others were bringing dessert too.
The best thing I ever did was having plastic cups and plates. We normally spend an hour just cleaning all that up which is not fun at all.Al-Hasan al-Basri said of hypocrisy: No one fears it but a believer, and no one feels safe from it but a hypocrite.

I had frozen blueberries which I defrosted but I don't like the taste of them in place of fresh. I ended up getting some cherries and pitting them (boy was that fun without a cherry pitter).
