Eid Festival on Saturday & Sunday at Broadmeadows Kangan Batman Tafe
I believe it starts at 10am, but I'll double check on that today for you.
The Festival is on the grass/car park area of the Tafe, unsure if it's free entry or not.
Will check that for you too.

I'll be able to get back to you in the afternoon

    "MEDIA RELEASE "

The Melbourne Eid Festival (MEF) which is traditionally held in Broadmeadows on the first weekend of Eid and which was planned to be held this upcoming Eid Al Fitr on Sat 25 & Sun 26 August will now be cancelled.

The founding director of the MEF Mohamad Tabiaat expresses his disappointments at the decision after 22 years of service "it is with very heavy hearts and much regret that we announce the cancellation of the MEF" and he hopes everyone can understand the ever increasing difficulties of organising a festival in the winter periods.

"Putting the festival together in what is proving to be a very challenging season was more difficult than we anticipated and we have spent the last few years fighting hard to keep the MEF. Unfortunately circumstances have dictated that we would be unable to run the festival to a standard that both our community and stakeholders would rightly expect." says Mohamad. Given that the communities’ energies were now focused on dealing with the potential rain impact it was considered that a cancellation, rather than a postponement of the Festival, was in the best interests of all concerned.

Mohamad Tabiaat says “Thank you for your support, and we will do everything we can to be back soon."

    Waalaykumussalam wa rahmatullah,

Here is the link to the Eid Festival Flyer www.aisamg.org, but it says the festival is cancelled due to weather forecast. InshaAllah they will update or you can contact them, there is a phone number in the flyer and the number for MG in the website.

That flyer is from last year which was a washout. They haven't updated their website obviously but I can tell you that they are having it this weekend at Kangan Batman Tafe in Broadmeadows as I printed the flyers.

That's strange as I was informed earlier today by the festival organisers that they have cancelled due to wet grounds...

You are right, just spoke to one of the organisers who confirmed that it has been cancelled.
