Assalamualaikum warahmatullaahi wabarakatuh
The Pakistan Islamic Medical Association (PIMA) has advised that there is an urgent need for shelter and blankets, especially in remote areas of Pakistan which have been affected by the Earthquake.
Winter is approaching and it snows in many of these areas. Could you imagine spending the night outside in Melbourne/Sydney, let alone in a place where it is snowing?
IFTAR FUNDRAISER
SUNDAY 30 OCTOBER
5PM - 8PM
LAYLA RECEPTIONS
451 SYDNEY RD, BRUNSWICK
Iftar will be served
Tickets are $100 and will provide shelter for at least 2 homeless families.
Money raised will be used to purchase suitable winter tents to provide shelter to these remote villages especially with the arrival of cold weather.
Whoever helps shelter a Muslim, Allaah will shelter him or her on the day of Judgement.
Your donations will have an immediate impact as these funds will be used to purchase the tents. It is estimated that almost 1 million of your brothers and sisters no longer have a home. You can give your zakat money for this cause.
These fundraising initiatives are a joint effort by IISNA and IISCA. Regardless of which other society you may be involved with, please buy a ticket and donate to this cause. I am of Indian origin, raising money for Pakistanis! Why? Because they are Muslim, and I am Muslim. Wouldn't you expect your brother to help in a time of need?
Every hour we hesitate people continue to die.
JazakAllah khair
Please PM me if you wish to purchase a ticket

and may Allah reward you for your intention dijma

inshaa'Allah i'll see you all there... i've already bought a couple of tickets... a guy at the masjid last night was saying... it's only 100 dollars we earn that for one days work on average and he sort of cracked it... n he said... if ur wife's washing machine stops working she won't stay in the house for 1 week with most of u until u buy a 500 or 600 dollar washine machine... but for your brothers and sisters to barely survive 100 dollars is too much... and... as arrogant as some parts of his speech sounded to some people who complained... he was right... and sometimes if u don't use that kind of harshness no 1 will pay a cent... so may Allah reward him

I will be at Preston Mosque tonight selling tickets, I only have 6 left.
The weather proof tents cost between $50-$60.
A brother from Pakistan who is working with the Islamic Medical Association in the affected areas has put a rough estimate on the dead at 200,000. Homless at 2 1/2 million. Wounded also at 200,000. And now winter is coming and these numbers can only increase without the help of the Muslims. If you cannot afford $100 then give whatever you can as donation.
The capital of Jammu is completely gone, destroyed.

200,000 is a conservative figure. What really got me was that in certain heavily populated cities there is not even a single building standing. That is total carnage. There are villages at this very moment completely buried underground along with its inhabitants. The sight of people using bare hands to remove the debri with a slim hope of finding their relatives also hit me quite hard.

Me too. What also struck me was the doctor from the Pakistan Islamic Medical Association estimating around 10,000 children have lost their parents and are now orphans!
