Loved "Life is beautiful". It's a Italian movie and won oscars in the foreign film category(1999).
La Vita è Bella (Life is Beautiful) has to be one of the best films ever made.. How it manages to roll so easily from being a fun comedy to such an emotional drama is a great effort. Roberto Begnini does a great job in the role of Guido in the film. As far as I recall there is little to no objectionable scenes, but a lot of background music.

Default Worst movie of all time is finally revealed - 04-Feb-2010, 04:28 PM

EMPIRE magazine has just released the verdict on what's been voted as the worst movie of all time.

It's George Clooney’s comic book adventure Batman And Robin even though the actor, a former Oscar-nominee, is tipped to be in the running for a Best Actor trophy for his role in Up in the Air.

The 1997 Batman and Robin, co-starring Chris O’Donnell and Uma Thurman, cost $US140 million ($158.5 million) to make and was blamed for almost killing off the Batman film franchise, The Sun reports.

Voters in the magazine poll slammed the film for its anatomically-correct Batsuits and an "overblown" script.

An Empire Magazine spokesman said, "It has become a byword for franchise-killing and bad movie-making."

The film got almost three times as many votes as the next entry, John Travolta’s sci-fi flick Battlefield Earth.

And Austin Powers funnyman Mike Myers’ comedy The Love Guru came in third place

unfortunately the crime that happens in the movie actually happens, which adds an extra kind of realism to the movie.

the relatively down to earth but gritty nature of the story and action (considering neeson's previous occupation in the film) really made it decent to watch, no ridiculous gadgets or bottomless ammo weapons that just keep on shooting.

the car driving was a bit unreal though, but because there wasn't a lot ill let them off, especially after noting the onscreen justice that came to 'marco from petroija' (just guessing the spelling), mr saintclair and those filthy crooks at the end.
TAKEN was good, but it made me feel bad coz all the baddies were mostly "muslim" .... the Albanians .... the rich Arab guy who bought the girl ....

I dont know too many Albanians personally ... but are they really involved with crime like in the movie ?

Which is why it didn't get the full 10/10 from me for.

But in reality, unfortunately there are many weak Muslims out there that do commit atrocious deeds. May Allaah free them from it, and protect us and our loved ones from committing it and it happening to us also, aameen!

Law Abiding Citizen
came out Oct 2009 (crime thriller)

Rated R for strong bloody brutal violence and torture, a scene of rape, and pervasive language.

9/10 for me. I loved it.

Awesome movie!

I must say that I hated the ending though...

The perfect planner, got it wrong, and it ended the way it did!

At the very least they should have had alternate endings, to please people that think the other one should have got what he wanted in the end. Would have been much more realistic, and much less 'Hollywood'like that way I believe.

Despite this major flaw, still very worth watching.

7.5/10 from me.

So it's not only me that didn't like the ending! It made soo cut and teary -.-
I totally wasn't expecting it though...so that was the good thing about it!

*Edit - Another movie where the ending killed me was American History X
Never came across anyone who doesn't like it, it's one of my favourites.

none of the crooks in 'taken' are of us, i would, had i the skill, not hesitated punishing all those punks as the character did.

back to reality, and as i said when i first mentioned the movie, its sad but true in many ways, human trafficking happens, 'muslims' may be involved, they definitely are among the users of such prostituted slaves, and if they really believe in Allah and the last day i hope they dont think that type of slavery and treatment of slaves is acceptable in islam.

Law Abiding Citizen yeah i liked it too again despite the ending. kinda got the feeling the Government propagandist got their noses in on this so as not to seem to let the "terrorist" win.

found myself cheering the guy on with each 'judgment'

My exact sentiments I loved Five Fingers though!

As for the 'A Law Abiding Citizen', I loved the judge's mobile scene though

I kinda was expecting something like that to be honest...

The trailer for the A-Team is out. It's not doing it for me; going back to the original tv series it just doesn't have the same feel. There can only be one BA Baracus, one Faceman and one Howling Mad Murdoch. Liam Neelson isn't a bad choice for Hannibal Smith.

Here is the trailer for it. Compare it with the original series intro

Okay, I don't watch a lot of movies. It's impossible to find one that is completely Islam-compliant, what with all the profanity, nudity, fornication, violence and the like. That's why I have an extensive DVD library, so that I can re-watch my favourite good movies on the rare nights when I actually have time to watch anything. A large part of my video library are those movies that I grew up watching, that are total classics, and sitcoms like Seinfeld. One of those movies that takes pride of place in my library is the totally awesome Karate Kid trilogy from the 80's (okay, so only the first two are any good, but that's irrelevant at this point). You know, the one with Pat Morita, Ralph Macchio....and immortalised in the classic lines "Wax on, wax off"...."Fear does not exist in this dojo, does it.....NO SENSEI" *sigh* But I digress. There is a reason why I am writing this in the Review section.....

*metaphorically cracks knuckles*

THEY MADE A REMAKE OF THE KARATE KID!!!

*splutters, flails, splutters some more*

....with Jackie Chan as the Mr Miyagi, and WILL SMITH'S little 10 year old son as the Daniel character. And they are based in China, where little 10 year old kid goes up against Chinese boys in their bloomin' national sport!!! And they have a new take on the "wax on, wax off" lines.....some pathetic "hang up your jacket, now take down your jacket and put it on" nonsense that had me SCREAMING at the trailer (and for those who know me, that in itself was probably a more entertaining spectacle than the trailer itself!!!). Karate Kid is an absolute CLASSIC of the X-generation, and I am beyond appalled that they think Jackie Chan can even compare to Pat Morita, who incidentally was nominated for an ACADEMY AWARD for that role. Stupid studio executives with more money than sense.

How could they? How dare they? What's next, a remake of Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom?? The Goonies??

Okay.....now that I've got that off my chest....

*slinks off to revise her notes for her presentation tonight discussing the genteel art of purification of the soul*

Hey there sonsonator.. I agree that the remake just doesn't sound right, but don't knock Jackie Chan!!!

I'm not knowing Jackie Chan, I am just objecting to him playing this role. The beauty of the original Karate Kid was that Pat Morita's character was a very unassuming one....you didn't expect that this portly little man was a karate expert. With Jackie, you can see that a mile away.....

Be thankful that they didn't cast Gerard Depardieu instead of Jackie Chan!

I agree. Its just simply wrong to have a remake of the Karate Kid. Some things should be left as they are, timeless classics; this is one of those things. If the trailer for it is anything to go by, then it looks to be an absolute shocker.

I think that Jackie Chan will fill in the role of Mr. Miyagi well, but who in the world could even come close to Johnny of Cobra Kai?!

Or his crazy trainer??
